Also, shouldn't we train our young military women to be dominatrices? the would really undermind the "machismo" of those zany muslims.

“You don't have to be straight to be in the military; you just have to be able to shoot straight.”

“Everyone knows that gays have served honorably in the military since at least the time of Julius Caesar.”

The problem with gays is that in the military you can be in close quarters with others for an extended period of time. Examples include fox holes, and dorms.

Most housing today is of the 2 men variety (2 folks to 1 room and 2 adjoining rooms sharing a common bathroom). Some places still use the 1 common room, 30 to 50 people in one large area using communal bathrooms/showers.

Several bases I was stationed, had up to 4 people in one room using communal bathrooms. Try getting up at 5:30AM and taking a shower with 20 to 30 guys every day.

Out in the field, most tents are of the 2 to 4 man variety.

There are gays in the military and have been for centuries. I have a cousin who is gay and is in the military, he just doesn't tell everybody he meets about it.

I am a female soldier, base at ft Knox, the military does allow homosexuals, in the military, however, the rule is not to disclose. The main reason for non -disclosure, is that straight, men or women, have to undress, shower, and sleep,in the same room with gay, women or men, this makes some people uncomfortable. There has been some problem protecting gay women and men, from harassment or physical abuse. And also, women like myself, have been taught to fight like men, during the time of war, but since this info cant be disclosed on how we fight, im sorry. i hope this answers your question. If you want to know further info, just join the military.

People have phobias about such things - especially men. Many men do not like the presences of gays because they fear for their on sexuallity. Not that they may become homosexuals, but they are afraid if seen in the company of a homosexual others might perceive them as such also. Being gay does not make you any less a soldier or an athlete. However, Gays in the military and sports are more so subject to abuse than anywhere else because of the macho thing. Sports and military are about team work. For the military, survival depends on team work. Any disruption can be very serious. Friendly fire is not always an accident. Maybe the military is only trying to avoid such incidents.

Because of aids and because they do not agree with the gay lifestyle. There have been gays in the military all along. But let me ask you a question. If you know the person is gay and may have HIV and he is bleeding on the battle field are you going to rush in and save him or are you going to get your buddy that isn't going to infect you with HIV? Self survival is just basic human behavior. There were women fighting over each other in the dorms when I was in. I shouldn't have had to be subjected to that lifestyle. If there were heteros screwing in the halls, the gays would be just as upset.

Because the gays complain all the time about the styling of the uniforms. And military women don't need to be trained to be dominatrices...they already are.

Useful in war yes but they have to go through boot camp first and having been in the military, I don't want some guy looking at my a$$ while I'm taking my shower!

Of course, they could be, and they are. There have always been gays in the military, and they have served along side hetero soldiers and have done the same job, at the same level of quality.

They just have had to hide it. It really makes no sense, and the military is in denial about it.

there is no use for any one that must make a stand for the type of sexual behavior they choose! our military is here to make a stand for our country and to try and keep America safe and what it was founded for !if more people would read history they will find America was built on religion! so many people want to throw morality to the wind -DO THAT AND YOU MAY AS WELL THROW THE UNITED STATES RIGHT ALONG WITH IT! if it is my own child that chose to lead a homosexual life i would pray that my child would find a good direction and instead of focusing on what arrouses her/him they would focus on more positive moral behavior

the living conditions and commaraderie of the military makes open gayness a difficult issue. As time passes and society becomes more willing to accept this it will change.

I definitely think we should draft the dom's. I dont think the gays would help in iraq, im pretty sure the ragheads enjoy smoking the pole.

I think they should send the homo's en-masse to the frontlines to scare the Iraqi's witless with the threat of possible an*l rape.

Then the real men can come in behind them (excuse the pun) and wipe them out .......

Done deal!

EDIT - To Patches - I so hope your child turns out to be Gay. You are a disgrace with your moral preaching. At least my answer was taking the p*ss ....... your answer was sincere, and shows how backwards you are in your thinking. As if a gay person is more immoral? In whose eyes? God? Uh - huh, fine if you believe in make believe stuff.
