Reading the bible "literally" means interpretting the Scripture according to rules of that genre, and in harmony with the rest of Scripture. You've taken this verse out of context. Sorry, my God is not on vacation

Nothing in the word of God (the Bible) justifies your assumption. Because God rested on the 7th day does not mean that translates to that happening now

You're trying to be cute - and failing. We are right at the threshold of the beginning of God's 7th day.., when Jesus returns (and soon enough) marks the beginning of that 1000 year reign of Jesus - the years of peace.., God's seventh day of rest.

No, I seriously doubt He's on vacation. He only rested after creation. Why would He need to rest again?

Read your Bible more closely. He certainly is not on a vacation.
If you are trying to quote the verse I think you are, keep it in context. Don't you think that it is a poetic way to describe the concept(reality) of eternity?
How would you convey to someone what eternity is?
