Christians are saying that if you don't believe in Jesus you'll go to hell. So what happened when before Jesus existed? Did everysingle one of your ancestors go to hell?
I thought that the rules were unchanged.
This so call "rule" that the Christians made is false(in my opinion).
Because if this "rule" applied to all creatures on Earth, then that means all animals(fish, dogs, cats, etc.) of this planet goes to hell.

I believe God did not make any rules that only applies to human beings.

Before Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice, there was the law and the prophets. The people who followed God sacrificed animals to push their sins forward another year. The faithful did go to heaven.
