would help to know the age. Without this information it is hard to give you good advice. I will tell you that when my daughter was an infant, cereal did the trick when it came to getting her to sleep through the night. Thanks for the update on the age. I would limit naps in the afternoon. That might help.

After your sure its not something medical, decide what you can tolerate doing and go from there. The twins did this same thing about this same time. Eventually after many sleepless nights, and many early risings, we decided to scoot bedtime back a half an hour every three days until it was 8 instead of 9 or 10. At that point we started to see them sleeping a little longer but not long enough for me(bad mama!) so I started going in their when they would wake(at this point about 5:30) and tell them no no its not time to be awake yet! I'd give them a cup of water, and a book, and firmly would not go back in again (barring diaper crisis's)until at least 6. Now they sleep until 6:30 or 7, and have been going to bed at 7:30 for a few months. Every child is different though. My 12 year old would do this too, and with him what worked was about the same thing, but it happened faster. bedtime was cut back, and I was firm in the AM. Just read all these wonderful peoples advice, and decide what is going to work best for you. Best of luck!

I did my son is still a baby he's 9 months and i just recently got him to sleep better. The thing that worked for me was i would just let him stay up a little later because im a night person so when i went to bed he went to bed. But if u have to work early that dosent really work well so if you feed him make sure he's nice and full, and maybe give him a bath with the night time baby wash that will soothe him. Then give him a bottle with some soft baby music playing he should be asleep within 10 minutes. And ive found that with my son he would rather me hold him and rock him to sleep rather than laying him down on his own with his bottle. Hopfully this will work for you.

Try putting him to bed earlier. The later we put my 2 year old daughter down the earlier she wakes up. The saying is " Sleep begets Sleep". I normally start my daughter's bedtime routine (warm bath, story time) around 5:30pm and she is asleep by 6:30. She normally sleeps until 6 in the morning.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck!

Limit his naptime to no longer than 2 hrs...and have it earlier in the day like at 12 pm to 2 pm if he gets a nap. What time does he get up in the morning? And, is he on a scheduel...kids love schedules?! And, maybe put him to bed earlier like 8 pm. Sometimes when kids are so tired they have a hard time going and staying asleep!

You did n't put his age so not 100% sure this will apply. I have twins girls age 3 doing exactly the same as we speak and people keep telling me it's a phase and they will grow out of it. I can put them to bed at 6pm or 9pm and the result is still the same a 5am wake up call...... so lets just hope this phase wears out quick :)

My daughter didn't sleep through until she was 17.5 going on for 18 months.
It's frustrating, I know, but it will happen and there is nothing that you can really do to force little ones to sleep all night.
