Yes, a 2GB Ultra 2 SD card is perfect for the D50. If your card is a Ultra 2 CF, it will NOT work.

You can use it if it is a Secure Digital (SD) card...

Yes, if it is a "Secure Digital" or "SD" card. In addition to the answers above, this is exactly the card that my wife has in her D50. No problem. Or, as we say in Spanish, "El no problem."
