it depends upon how devoted you are and how much love did you give him. it could take a little as one week or it could take as long as many years. but time, time will make him just a part of your memory. so, only you can answer that.

Unfortunately it takes approx 5 years. It takes the same amount of time to get over a death. You must mourn this relationship, put it to rest.
Try this:
Write a letter to the person you have lost. Be one hundred percent honest. Say everything you have ever wanted to say...negative or positive. Put it into an envelope, seal it and write their name on it.
Go somewhere alone, your back yard or the beach, dig a hole, say goodbye, have a good cry if you feel it, and bury the letter.
You will be surprised how relieved you feel, and then you can start your new life. God Bless you!

Depends on how long you want to drag it out ,lugging around the baggage that sets you up for failure in your next relationship.
It's always sad when you break up but there is life after. Go out and enjoy yourself. Don't jump right back into a relationship. Take some time to have a life of your own for a while.

There is not set time for how long it takes over someone. The hurt will be less with time and you'll move on with your life. But you may never be totally over that person. It's OK to be sad and mourn the relationship, you'll need that release to be able to move forward. Just make sure that you don't let it drag out to the point that it becomes unhealthy for you. My best wishes to you.

How long is a piece of string? just move on times a great healer, this time next year you will wonder what you ever saw in him, you must of split for a reason, and to keep going back the rot tends to set in, ending up a bitter fued match, get yourself out and meet a new network of friends, we are only here once, go for it, good luck with your future happiness

you really can't put a time frame on that. i can relate to you trying to figure out how long, cause at least for me it's a very painful and hard time that you wish could pass quickly. honestly dont rush it, for two reasons, you might end up doing something you`ll regret later to feel better now, and also you might rush the process of moving on and might still hold feelings and then they will appear out of know where and you'll just be behind on the process. GOOOD Luck! GOD'S SPEED

I would have to say it is up to you...depends on how much you cared for the person. Everyone is different. Depends on how much the person touched your heart too....if it was a love that ran so deep, then i think that person will always have a special place in your heart and you will always carry fond memories of them with you.

someone once told me it was a third of the time you had been together. so in your case, it would be 8 months. Now i know what you're thinking, that's its just a stupid number and you can't work it out like that. But, i didn't think i'd ever get over my ex bf, but i reckon i am now- and it took about that long............ so maybe not so dumb after all.

You never do. It just gets less and someone else fills the void.
And as for miss-attitude 'forlone' up there, she's sleeping alone tonight.
