These muscle-relaxing techniques target certain muscle group for efficacy and ease in execution. They are the following:

Relaxation Breathing

Lying on your back on the floor, bend your knees so that your feet can rest flat. While taking a deep breath, let both the chest and the abdominal wall rise and expand. The breath should be held for a few seconds. Then expel it through your mouth with a rush. Repeat the exercise four or five times at regular spaced intervals.

Arm Tension

Standing erect, swing both arms forward and back, then side to side. At the same time, the arms should be allowed to drop during the swings; the hands should brush your thighs at each pass. Keeping the shoulders low and as relaxed as possible, repeat several times.

Next, sit on the edge of a chair and clench one hand tightly. The hand is kept clenched while the arm is swung vigorously in wide circles. Repeat the movement with the other arm.

Leg Tension

While sitting on the edge of a table, swing your legs freely backward and forward, bending at the knee. Try to keep your legs moving in rhythm.

Stomach Tension

In a kneeling position, lower your body so that your feet are under your hips. Extend your arms over your head and clasp your hands. Then swing your trunk down to one side and around. At the same time, swing your arms in a wide circle over your head until you come up on the other side.

For an alternative stomach relaxer, stand with your buttocks against a wall. With feet spread apart and a few inches from the wall, bend your body forward and let it sway from side to side. Keep arms and head loose.

Relaxation for the Neck Muscles

With your head forward and lowered, back straight, and shoulders loose, turn your head first to one side and then the other. Your chin should touch first one collarbone and then the other. Movements should be slow and rhythmic.

These muscle-relaxing techniques can be performed easily at work or at home. They can form a vital part of a daily work-out regimen.

Toxic emotions will resurface during quiet moments with self during your meditations....just picture these as a "dark cloud" dispersing as the universal energy heals you, & your true inner light source is permanently shining. Eventually your inner light, your core positive energy (the real you) will become brighter and brighter until eventually any type of temporary disturbance will have dissipated. I've experienced this 1st hand several times, however when one keeps up on yoga on a regular basis, you won't be starting "from square one" again, but rather becoming more and more in tune with the art of yoga meditation. Always remember that this exercise is so very healthy physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
P.S. DO some regular exercises as well to work off frustrations.

Sometimes exercising consistently for just one month isnt going to clear you of your mental frustrations. You need to continue eating healthy, and second guess your intructor. Is your instructor good enough for you? Does she make you feel relaxed, calm, and does she provide you with compliments and reasurance as you are practicing?

I recommend also using visualization and meditation techniques as well. There is a book called "Mind Power" written by Arnold A. Lazarus and Bernie Zilbergeld, both of whom are Ph. D.'s. In the book there is a host of different techniques that can help you utilize your mind for positive reasons. It is highly recommended that you modify these mens teachings to correspond with your own personality and lifestyle, however, you still need to follow the structure of the system if you expect GREAT results.

Ultimately, the idea is to eliminate the negative mind, and insert automated POSITIVE thinking in its place. These meditation techniques in combination with your yoga, should help you. Of course you don't have to go with this book, you can always try a different program or book. You can even start going to a meditation class.

I agree with bolly queen . Yoga is not the answer . Even if you become a master of yoga you will not have peace . Lord Jesus is the answer for any and every problem . Invite Him into your heart and see the amazing difference in your life . He will give you the peace you need and He is The answer to all of your needs.
Jesus is The Prince of peace.

You need a real guru. He will alone can release you from disturbances. Then come out of the problems. Whenever you are still brooding over a problem, you can never come out from the mental disturbances.

yoga helps you relax muscles.

Mental disturbances has to be tackled by techniques of stress-relief.Mahrishi Mahesh YOGI's Transcendental meditation will help.
As a do it yourself, develop confidence in yourself.Life has a lot of things to offer you.It is for you to take it by positive action.
Worrying mentally on things real and unreal will not change the situation .
So it is a wasteful thing to worry about the problems.just go ahead with your work sincerely, you will be rid of your problems.

I have this problem as well... Here's what I do... Before going to bed... I will close my eyes and relax... this works best when laying down.
At this point, speak and say the things that you see pictures of in your mind, such things that are on your mind. Keep saying them until nothing comes to mind. This usually takes me about 5 minutes and then all of my thoughts are clear and I'm able to sleep. Try it and let me know how it works for you. Take care.

Sincerely, Shelia.

Yoga isn't the answer. It cannot fill you up. Neither can anything else... except God. Ask Jesus Christ into your soul. Read the Holy Bible and have a relationship with the Almighty. I can tell you from personal experience, that He fills you up like nothing else. It feels so good!
