Hi ive just almost finished with my wedding plans from next year for this year so prices and stuff are still fresh. As for stationary, it all depends on your budget and what you want. When i shop around for my stationary, the prices where very high it was like £170 for just the cards and thats not with the evening invites and placecards and thank you cards. These where wbout the same price. But it all depends on how many guest there are and what type of style you want, But like anything the style you want is going to be the most expensive.
I was thinking of getting ones already made but then i went in a few card shops and noticed that they have some lovely ones for not evevn half the price. and they where lovely. So i thought to myself, if i got a invitation for a wedding would i keep the invite for that persons wedding or throught it away and most people through them away, not knowing how much the person has paind for it. I realise this now and feel bad for throughing them out of weddings ive been to as now i know how expensive they are. Yes i know its your special day but paying alot of money for a card maybe only you and your parents and inlaws may keep is a lot of money.
So i just went and bought some from a card shop, it only cost under £20 for the day invites and evening invites. and they are gorgeous. They where actually nicer than the ones i was looking at.

But its your wedding and you should be able to decide, i wasnt going to get the ones from a card shop, but at the prices of the other ones and from what i told you about people keeping them. It was cheaper to get them this way. And put the money toward something else.

For me the 'invitation' was the biggest bit of the stationery I required. As we were getting married abroad it wasn't the standard stuff, we need to make a complete pack, with prices for the holiday, information about the resort, all in colour, bound together, and posted of. There was no company around that we found that did destination wedding stationery, so we ended up making our own - not of the choice.... So maybe there is a niche in the market for your company, because we would of been willing to pay for this service!!

Other than that placecards, placeholders, table planners, thank you card are our next thing. Budgeted about £100 for the lot. Thats for 40 guest

I am in the process of planning my wedding and the next thing on my list are the invites. I have checked around at various places (as i am too busy to make my own) and actually found some faily nice priced ones- like 100 for 114$. I really like the seal and send ones- they have a website that you can get samples of papers, colors, and wordings as you choose. That is with a design. it is http://www.sealandsend.net

I am having 125 guests. I dont want to spend more than $1-1.25 per invite befoer tax. And i want all the information on it. the location, time, reception, map, etc...

I dont need seating cards, so the invite itself is the most important to me.

It's me again answering. With my daughters wedding stationery not organised so perhaps I should not be replying. Looking at your answers I would like to add that sometimes the venue takes over part of it. I live in Scotland so am speaking for what happens here. Prior to booking actual venue we had wedding brochures etc. The majority of them provided personalised menus, table plans and place cards. Hope this info is interesting to you?

OK, there is many ways of doing this cheaply, first you can do it yourself, if you are not any good at designing, there is always someone in the fa,ily who knows someone.

Secondly, go to some computer fairs, some one will be selling some program or another that will do design and or how to plan a wedding.

Thirdly, I forgot to look where you live, if in the UK, go out to WH SMITHS and buy Bride magazines they have a lots of contacts of cheap stationery

Now to the most important bits of stationery

Main Invitation
Evening Invitation
Service Card
Thank you cards
Table markers - where you want someone to sit
Table Plan

The invites and thank you notes are the most important, hymn cards, or order of service cards could also be considered, depending on the type of wedding you are having. I have paid less than £50 for mine as they are scroll style and I only had to invite 20 people.

Hi and congratulations.

Have a look at confetti.co.uk who do lots and lots of stationery and other excellent planning tools.

I guess the most important stationery is the invitations, but you might have other priorities.

Good luck!

I purchased mine from Ann's Wedding. I wanted something simple with daisies and they had the perfect one. I found the same one at a few other places but Ann's had it A LOT cheaper. I only paid $75 per hundred. We added Thank You cards which was still pretty cheap. The whole thing was about $250 I think.
