Easiest, most traditional meatloaf!
To 2 lbs. of ground sirloin (less fat than chuck), add
1 egg,
1 package of dry onion soup mix and
1 cup of seasoned bread crumbs.
Mix to combine, but do not overmix.
Freeform into a loaf-shape (allows fat to run off instead of the type in the loaf pan), and place in an oven safe baking dish or cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or to an internal temp of 150.
Glaze with ketchup (if you like it) in the last 10 minutes.
Allow to cool for 10 minutes, slice and enjoy!
Best wishes!

Do you have a crockpot? This is by far the best recipe, I will never make meatloaf anyother way! You willprobably get a lot of recipes saying the same thing but you should really really try this one.
In a large bowl combine 2 eggs beaten, 3/4 milk, 2/3 bread crumbs, 2tb spoons onion, 1/2teas salt, 1/2teas sage and 1 1/2 ground beef. Mix well, shape into a 9x5 rectangle or oval. Put in slow cooker cover on low for 5-6 hours. combine 1/4 ketchup, 2tb brown sugar, 1teas dry mustard and 1/4 nutmeg in a bowl. pour that mixture over meatloaf 15 min before it is done and cook that mixture on the meatloaf on high for the last 15 minutes.
Good luck!

I mix 1/12 pounds of ground chuck with 1/2to 1 pound ground pork(not sausage). I mix in a large egg, half a small can of tomato paste, an envelope of dried onion soup mix and bread crumbs. I put a couple slices of raw bacon on top and bake @ 350 until done. Once baked, I drain off the fat and I mix a can of tomato sauce with the rest of the tomato paste in a sauce pan. I add some garlic, oregano and basil and a little brown sugar. I pour this all over the meat loaf and put it back in the oven for a few more minutes. My kids love this with mashed potatos and corn.

Try the following, really nice recipes
American Meatloaf
1 lb (450 g) minced beef
1 lb (450 g) minced pork
2 medium onions, very finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled
3 heaped tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 level dessertspoon chopped fresh thyme
1 large egg
3 oz (75 g) white bread, sliced and crusts removed, cut into 1 inch (2.5 cm) cubes
3 tablespoons milk
1½ rounded teaspoons mustard powder
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 fl oz (110 ml) dry white wine
about 8 slices (6 oz/175 g) traditional smoked streaky bacon
salt and freshly milled black pepper
Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 2, 300°F (150°C).
You will also need a 2 lb (900 g) loaf tin, 7½ x 4¾ x 3½ inches deep (19 x 12 x 9 cm deep), preferably non-stick.
Pancakes to be proud of! [1 August 2005]
The best way to make a meatloaf is in a large food processor, if you've got one. In which case you can begin by chopping the onions, garlic, parsley and thyme all together until the onion is very finely chopped, then add the meats and break in the egg. Place the bread in a little bowl, spoon the milk over, then mix it with your hands or a fork until the bread has broken down to fine crumbs. Add these to the processor along with the mustard powder, Worcestershire sauce, wine and a really good seasoning of salt and pepper. Now, switching on and off, or using the pulse button, mix the whole lot together until thoroughly blended. If you don't have a food processor, grate or mince the onion, chop the garlic finely then mix everything thoroughly in a large bowl.
When the mixture is ready, pack it into the loaf tin and smooth the top with the back of a spoon, then snip the rinds off the bacon and lay the slices all along the top of the meat, slightly overlapping, and press them down firmly. Now place a piece of foil over the top and twist or pleat the corners. Stand the tin in a shallow baking tin, pour about 1½ inches (4 cm) boiling water into the tin straight from the kettle and place the whole thing on the middle shelf of the oven. Let it cook slowly for 2 hours. After that remove the foil and dig a skewer into the meatloaf; press it down to make sure that the juices are running clear. Now, if it's cooked, remove it from the oven then let it cool for about 30 minutes and after that, if you're serving it cold, replace the foil and place something heavy on top to weight it down. Leave it weighted like this until it's completely cold. This makes the meatloaf easier to slice. If you're serving the meatloaf hot, just allow it to rest for 30 minutes in the tin, covered with foil, then turn it out on to a board and serve cut in slices.
Meatloaf
750g/1lb 10oz lean minced beef
175g/6oz sausage meat
1 egg, beaten
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon sage leaves, chopped
1 tablespoon mustard
1 heaped tablespoon tomato purée
110g/4oz fresh breadcrumbs
½ tsp paprika
salt and freshly ground black pepper
Method
1.Heat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas4.
2.Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix thoroughly - it s best to use your hands here.
3.Transfer the mix to a 900g/2lb loaf tin and pat down until level. Cover the top of the mixture with an oiled piece of greaseproof paper.
4.Bake in the oven for 1 hour 30 minutes or until the meatloaf is cooked through. (Remove the paper 15 minutes before the end of cooking).
NB. If you prefer, you can place the meatloaf to bake in a bain marie (water bath) ie: in a baking tin half filled with water. Cook for a further 20-30 minutes if needs be. Baking the loaf in a bain marie ensures the meatloaf cooks through evenly and stays moist.

1 cup of finely chopped onion
1 celery rib, chopped fine
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 carrot, chopped fine
1/2 cup of finely chopped scallion (can substitute onion)
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 tsp salt (use 1 1/2 teas if using Italian sausage)
1 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
2 tsp Worscestershire sauce
2/3 cup ketchup
1 1/2 pounds of ground chuck
3/4 pound of spicy ground pork sausage (or use Italian sausage - 1 sweet, 1 hot)
(NOTE: many versions of meatloaf call for ground veal as well. I would experiment with a third each of beef, pork, and veal.)
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 large eggs, beaten slightly
1/3 cup minced fresh parsley leaves
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large heavy skillet cook the onion, garlic, celery, carrot, and scallion in butter, over moderate heat, stirring, for about 5 minutes. Cover and stir occassionally until the carrots are tender, about 5 more minutes. Stir in salt and pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and 1/3 a cup of ketchup. Cook for 1 more minute.
In a large bowl, combine the meats, eggs, bread crumbs, vegetables, and parsley. Form into a loaf and put into a retangular baking pan with 2 inch high sides. Cover loaf with remaining ketchup.
Bake meat loaf in oven for 1 hour.
Serves 4 to 6.

preheat oven to 350
Hamburger meat (how ever much you want)
1 egg for each pound
ketchup
salt
pepper
onion (if they won't mind) chopped up
or maybe just onion powder
garlic powder
Put it in a pan. And if you like, with your finger, indent a big smiley face on it and fill up the indent with ketchup. It makes the kids laugh, and it is good. A thing my grandma used to do is she would put unflavored oatmeal in the mix. It would make the meal go farther. That is good if you have a lot of people in the family and not too much money. It does taste good. I usually put it in when I make meat loaf. Put just like a cup.
Bake it for about 30 minutes. Or until it looks done. Enjoy!

I add about a cup of Stove Top Stuffing Mix (any flavor) and 1/2 cup BBQ sauce to about 1lb of ground beef and mix it up before baking. It's really easy and soooo good. You don't have to cook the stuffing before you mix it in.
The exact recipe came from kraftfoods.com
Here's the recipe. It's really good and easy.
