If people can believe in "big bang",Evolution, etc. Where do you believe what was needed for these things to occur came from? Do you believe they always were? Who created what was needed for these theories to take place? And if you believe these things needed, always were, then why is it so difficult to believe what GOD says in HIS word, the Bible, That GOD always was and that HE CREATED all things? And why don't you that don't believe in GOD get serious and confront HIM face to face and say "GOD IF YOU'RE REAL THEN PROOVE IT TO ME." Are you afraid HE might? If HE"S not real then what have you got to lose? If HE is real then you've got a whole lot to gain. Like eternal life in heaven with the CREATOR who loves you and sent HIS SON to die in your place that you might live.Anyone out there brave enough to take the challange? I did! (If your not serious don't waist GOD"S or your own time, because HE was very serious in loving you so much that HE let HIS son die in your place.

It is magical no matter how it came into existence. Nobody knows exactly how it all started or what else exists beyond our universe. It is only human ignorance that assumes that something cannot exist without someone creating it. How can you start out with a creator if you have nothing. That big bang was ~14 billion years ago and there are about 100 trillion billion stars in the universe. On that time and distance scale the Earth and mankind are not even a grain of sand on the beach. To me that means that the universe is vastly more wondrous than we can even comprehend but we are not the center of universe. The mysteries of biology are largely understood by science. There are perfectly logical explanations for how it all came about. It doesn't make it any less spectacular nor does it mean that there isn't something beyond our physical nature. People should not assume they are all knowing and accept that some things are probably beyond knowing.

Ummmm. There is sooooo much to address in this one. First of all, just because science points towards the possibility of a Big Band, and evolution is the only theory that we have ANY evidence for doesn't mean that we have all the answers yet. That is what is so great about science. One day we may discover what caused the big bang, and then you can spend your time trying to justify why that can't be true. (you know, just like evolution)

Second, as far as confronting God face to face, I would love to, it would clear up a bunch of things for me, and I would have a lot of tough questions for the big guy. Here you go: GOD IF YOU ARE REAL PROVE YOURSELF TO ME.

I have said it many times in prayer in the past and guess what, NO ANSWER. I'll give him another chance and will post my findings directly if he does give me anything to go on. But unfortunately I need more than a funny feeling in my tummy or hairs on the back of my neck. He will have to give me some tangible evidence. Most Christians at this point will be saying, "you can't test God". Convenient, but the bible says to test all things, and this is my fleece. If God doesn't prove himself to me today, will you believe that he doesn't exist, or does it mean that he just doesn't like me personally?

1. I don't know about the big bang too well- I don't really care, though. Evolution... there's little doubt in my mind that occurs.
2. Maybe
3. Most likely, nobody.
4. Because that isn't the only god to choose from, because "I don't know" does not equal "magic"- what leads you to believe that someone was responsible for it- the fact that you don't have any other way of fully understanding our origins, yet? Studies like this take time and technology- maybe the answers aren't readily available to humans yet. Maybe suggesting a creator would oversimplify things to the point where we stop looking. Imagine how irresponsible that would be! What if I'm right? We have all this time to explore space and find newer or more natural, non-renewable resources (which will eventually run out); and instead we squander it, worshiping a god that has no physical evidence to even provide a clue as to whether he exists or not- wouldn't that be a bad move on our part to simply rely on the simple answers and not bother exploring and trying to figure it out for ourselves? Religion provided all the simple answers, and its okay to take comfort in that- its not okay to blindly accept it as true on a societal level, and live our lives accordingly, however.
5. If god proves himself to me, great! I would love to believe the simple answers. I really wish that could happen so I could just be wrong about this. I would really like that.
6. "if he's not real what do we have to lose?"... see #4
7. "if he's real"... Like I said. I would much prefer to believe this is the case. How much nicer would it be to look on life and say, "Yup! Someday I'm going to die, but that's okay! Someone will take me in and reward me for the punishments and hardships of human life." I just find it highly improbable- in fact, I don't believe a word of it.
8. What challenge? Love Jesus? Accept a martyr that supposedly lived and died centuries ago to swallow the sins of man, then left no evidence of his existence other than a few bedtime stories? First off, I don't think half of those so called sins are really all that bad... many of those particular behaviors are human nature. Its what makes us who we are. Some of those behaviors are found to be distasteful to others, but that doesn't mean we aren't ALL predisposed to behaving in that way.
9. If god wanted to forgive our sins, he didn't have to send someone to die. He could have simply said I forgive all- love me. That's part of being ALL-POWERFUL, isn't it?

The universe has always been here. At least the matter/energy. The Big Bang wasn't the first, as eventually the universe will collapse on itself and set up for another big bang. It is hard for humans to understand, but the matter/energy has always existed and always will. This is all formed from scientific evidence and research. Unfortunately, there is no scientific evidence for God, so there is no reason to believe in it or its words. Just because my parents told me there was one, doesn't mean I have to believe. I tried asking him if he was real, but I kept getting Buddha.

I understand your reasoning Windy but even if God did just create everything, there is still room for the "big bang" theory as one of the details in creation. Since none of us(well, most of us) were not around at the time, most of it is just pure speculation anyway. The way the Unverse is "moving" is no proof of anything in my opinion. The Creator can do what he wants anytime he wants really.

Creation all the way. and to thoes who go with the big bang and evalutionwhok says God didn't cause the big bang in the first place. it never says how long a day was when He created earth also they've never found the missing link to prove that the evolution theory is correct

(i'm Christian)
Hey, look, i know ya mean well, but if a person does not have eyes to see and ears to hear, you are wasting your time.
This earth age is for choice.
The spirit of Elijah will come and turn the hearts of the children back to their fathers (plural).
Let Gods plan continue to work, as it is, perfectly. Of course, it isn't Gods will that even one of his children perish, but thats not to say they won't - unfortunately, many will.
Read the parable of the tares; we are not all of the same "Father".
If someone is of another father, it doesn't matter what you say, or how you say it -
they do not have the ability to understand Gods speech. God does not want you to frustrate yourself with this. We need this weeding out to occur, unless you want to go into the eternity and have a repeat of this nonsense? Neither do I, so let those hearts turn the way that is natural for them to go. You are putting your bucket down a very, very dry well.

The Atheist's Wager is an atheistic response to Pascal's Wager.

While Pascal suggested that it is better to take the chance of believing in a god that might not exist rather than to risk losing infinite happiness by disbelieving in a god that does, the Atheist's Wager suggests that:
You should live your life and try to make the world a better place for your being in it, whether or you believe in god. If there is no god, you have lost nothing and will be remembered fondly by those you left behind. If there is a benevolent god, he will judge you on your merits and not just on whether or not you believed in him

Homer Simpson
In a reference to Pascal's wager and its criticisms, Homer Simpson once pointed this out to his wife Marge, "But Marge, what if we picked the wrong religion? Every week, we're just making God madder and madder!".

Homer Simpson just rules.

Science has nothing to say about God it only deals with observable, measurable verifable facts. You can believe whatever else you want to otherwise just dont call it science
