When my Babies were young, they also had Cradle cap. The Doctor had told me to put a little Baby Oil on thier head and use a baby comb to work it loose. At the same time as I was doing this, I would apply a little baby oil into their cheeks, to help with the dryness. Vaseline is good also for this purpose. Like the saying goes I was just killing 2 birds with one stone. This is another Southern Saying, in case you've never heard of it..

My baby has exactly the same thing and it was looking so bad:o( I had used Aveeno Baby unscented but I found it didn't help much. My friend recommended Glycomed which I when to get at the pharmacy and the drugst suggested Herbacin Kamille unscented hand cream with glycerin, silicon and camomille. Sounds weird I know, but she said it is a bit thicker then but similar to Glycomed, and after one application overnight, my baby's skin is so much softer and less painful looking:o)

I like them both, but for cheeks I would use Vaseline. If you don't use Vaseline, buy some eucerin aquaphor healing ointment. if it's gentle enough for the skin of chemo patients 9who can't use most products), then it's ok for babies. It safe and extremely gentle.

I prefer vaseline only cause i really don't want my babies cheeks to smell like diaper rash cream. What really worked for mine espcially because they have such delicate skin is curell lotion....It works amazing.

The first thing is get a diagnosis from the doc before trying to treat this. See the doc or at least call your doc to find out what is recommended.

I use Aveeno's moisturizing cream for infants. My little one's cheeks are still red after using it (I think due to early teething) but at least they're not dry!

we had this with our last son and although we were advised to use an emmolient (moisturiser) we had far better results with a thin smear of sudocrem at bedtime it cleared it up in no time.
