I just got out of a long relationship. I met a girl I like and would like to spend time with, but I don't know the best way to approach her. I met her when a group of mutual friends went out together. I do not know her phone number and I am not sure about asking someone else for it. I do know where she lives though.

Do some research, find out from your mutual friends when she'll be going out with them again and make sure you're there too. Then tell her about a great cafe you've heard a good review about and ask if she would like to go with you to check it out.

How about sending her flowers with a card that says "can we go out some time". On the card explain how you met her and include your phone number. Don't send roses, those might come on too strong and send the wrong message. Just a pretty bouquet, that will keep it upbeat, and I don't know a woman who could refuse that!

DON'T GET HER NUMBER FROM OTHER PEOPLE.
She's gonna end up thinking you're a stalker. The best way to approach her is to be casual, calm and a friend first to get her number. Talk to her out of "boredom" and let the relationship build from there.
When you feel it's right, ask her.
