I wanting to start a small handmade stationery company mainly for weddings, I already make handmade cards and was thinking of a package deal costing £250 which includes 50 invitations,50 order of services, 50 name cards, 50 Thank You cards 50 favour boxes and a guest book. Do you think this is too much? Has this included the main stationery?

We printed and made our own stationery as much as possible for our wedding, and with name cards, invites and save the date cards for 40 guests coming to just under £100. We bought the favour boxes at a specialist wedding shop for about £1 each.

We didn't have an order of service, though I really don't think that would've costed anymore than £50 for the lot. So all in all, if we had the order of service we would have paid about £190 total for the stuff for 40, and we had fun putting the things together.

I suppose if you take the figure up to 50, then proportionately the cost would've been £237.50, so I guess your price would be reasonable.

That's cheap. The really cheap ones you buy in whsmiths are £5 a pack of 5-and that's just invites.

I would suggest you do a 'silver' range at £300 and a premium range at £350 too.

You might want to think about doing a pricing for orders over 50 people too-making it so much per 10 over that and then offering 'special rates' for 75 people plus-negotiable depending on what range they wanted.

I paid over £400 for invites alone for a guest list of 200 about 10 years ago to give you some idea. And that didn't include RSVP cards!

Hi, yes this does sound excellent i needed you when i first started planning my weeding for this year last year. I was pricing cards to be printed and they cost a fortune nearly the price you are charging for everything. and yours includes extra bits. I would charge a bit more though it you want because if you items are of good quality then you deserve to charge more as i know for all the above if you are just doing it sepreatly your nearly looking over £500 quid. So yes a very good deal,

I wouldn't pay it personally b/c I didn't want the name cards and favor boxes, guest book, etc. The only thing I ended up buying were my invitations and thank you cards. i made my own favors and got a picture frame guest book made, but that was just me. I'm sure a lot of people that want the traditional things would pay it

This seems reasonable. Especially when you consider the cost of weddings these days. I paid a lot more when I got married, a lot, lot more. I wish you had been around then! This is the girl's special day and I do not believe that anyone should begrudge her a bit of indulgence. Not that your price seems to be that steep for printed stationary.

Having been married once before, I must say that I personally would never spend any more than the cost of the licence on getting married. But I guess these young ladies don't mind dishing it out for the first one! Sounds good!

No, I wouldn't. Sorry. I don't like to be boxed into the options of package deals. But that doesn't mean that others wouldn't enjoy it for the opposite reason; having their choices narrowed down.

It's quite practical for today's busy people, so don't use me as an indicator.

Ive been through the wedding fleece for my daughter.
Basically sellers of all things matrimonial rely on psychological pressure to make clients pay silly money for every thing.
Basically you can charge what you want, forget value for money go for the want to impress freind and family gambit, once in a lifetime etc.
Good luck

Well, I think if you are getting the details of the wedding and TOTALLY personalising the cards to the way they (the families) want it then no... if you are doing a "generic" type of thing then you may want to go lower, hand made or not....

Good Luck

Sounds like a great deal - for soemthing hand made and personalised. i'd pay that because its not a massive ammount of money to part with and you get the personal touch on everything. My friend got married recently and paid about £200 for everything you listed bu tit wasn't hand made and she didnt have much of a choice.
