i own a volvo S70 on start up the rev meter is so unstable, at times chucks when pressing the brake peddle?

The rev meter of my car is normally unstable when i start up and at times chucks when stopped and pressing the break peddle.

recommend checking body grounds first [behind rt and lt kick panals engine to frame near starter battery to body etc but suspect you will wind up replacing the tachometer

If your s70 is a 98-00 there is a factory recall out that should clear that issue. You will need to check with your local volvo dealer to see if there are any outstanding recalls.
