yes a cold sore can generate to genital herpes; by you transmitting through your touch or someone elses touch; it is a live virus and as can be transmitted on your body from tactile touch or someone elses; just be careful not to touch your cold sore and then say go to the bathroom ; wash your hands frequently until the sore that contains the live active virus is gone.

if someone was to have a cold sore and performs oral sex on their partner you can tranfer that family of herpes to you partner.
then your partner will have genital herpes.

There is only one way to get genital herpes...... I didnt quite understand the question, maybe you could be more clear...
If your asking if you could get them from it being cold?? Then NO, only by intercourse can u get them!
