I read an article about Colts coach Dungy, who lost a son just months ago and has another one with a rare congenital disease. But Dungy seems sure that God helped him win the Super Bowl.

Is that sick or what?

Now that's giving God the Glory for His success. Out of every bad situation, there can be some good taken from it. Both coaches(Dungy & Smith) in the Super Bowl are Christians.

I really get annoyed when people claim "God" helped them win. The inference in the claim is that there was something "wrong" with the other person morally. If you win a game, you win it because of your skill and determination, not because God was rewarding or punishing anyone. I find such statements ridiculous, as they actually trivialize God instead of revering him.

The Christian God gave humanity free will. With free will comes living with the consequences of ones' actions. God does not interfer in such things. To think otherwise is to assume that your opponent is "evil".

I think Dungy has a "Job" complex. God took away his sons, then "Gave him" the Super Bowl? Sounds like a piss-poor trade off to me.

No God didn't take sides, and if Dungy want to think that, he can and no it's not sick, it is probably a comfort to him so leave him be.

I don't think God took sides. His answer was a big fat no to both teams. God wants us to help ourselves (Parable of the Talents).
If I were a doctor and I ask God to give me patients; while you on the other hand, pray that you do not get sick do you think God will take sides? We must learn how to pray. That's what the apostle James said. We ask and do not receive because we do not know how/what to ask for.
Peace and every blessing!

I made my bet based on conversations with the Almighty before hand and now I don't have to worry about a couple of goons breaking my legs cause I ain't got the vig!!! I'm free and clear of the book, I made my money back and I'll never ever bet again, at least on football in New Jersey, these guys play rough!

I thought God loved deep dish pizza, so I was really confused about the outcome.

Its not whether God's on your side or not, its whether your on God's side or not. I'm pretty sure both teams were on God's side.
