It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
If you are dehydrated, the best is to drink warm water. It gets absrbed into your body faster because your body does not have to first expend the energy into warming it up.
If you are trying to maximize your calorie consumption, cold water is best because it makes your body work harder to get it absorbed. Think of it as free calorie burns.
As for the health benefits, water is water. Just don't drink so much waterthat you poison yourself. Yeah, people die from drinking too much water. But that's only when you drink several gallons in one go, so you will probably not have to worry about that.

If drinking your water warm helps you drink 8 glasses a day, then drink it warm.
The benefit from water is from the quantity, not the temperature.
The theory behind drinking ice cold water is that your body burns calories in raising the temperature of the water to body temp. Even if the theory is sound, then the most you would burn is 37 calories to bring 4 cups of water to body temp if all 4 cups were consumed at the same time.
Or... you can leave the mayo off your turkey sandwich and have a guaranteed calorie savings of 100 cal.

Why would you want to drink warm water, unless it wasn't warm when you started drinking. However, it will not hurt you. so drink up. You should also know that drinking too much water if also dangerous as it knocks out all of the essential vitamins/minerals in your body, such as sodium and potassium.

Actually, your body will like it if your drink room temperature water. Water too cold is a shock to your system. Your body then has to warm it up. I don't think warm water is a problem.

I used to work with an older bloke who had always had a glass of warm water every night before bed.
He lived to be 90 and was as strong as an ox. I don't know if that was the water or not, but it obviously didn't do him any harm!
