I am completely addicted to food. I'm not, not fat. I'm 13, 167 cm and weigh about 46 kg, but I eat a lot. A LOT. Even if I'm not hungry at all, I just cannot stop thinking about food and then looking for it. I live in the type of house that has a lot of food lying around, so obviously, temptation is everywhere. How can I stop? I know for a fact that this is not healthy. Help!!!

Binge eating is never without a cause! Ever! There is a cause and usually, it is because you want control over your life and can't get it. Are your parents very strict? Do you have control over lots of things in your life? If you said yes to the first and no to the second, then binge eating will psychologically give you control over what you put into your body.

Many times, you will find that youth that are constantly pushed to excel by their parents will be binge eaters or anorexic. Incest victims usually have some sort of eating disorder.

There is definitely an underlying problem somewhere... perhaps you are "eating your emotions". I would suggest that you talk to your family doctor and if you need to see a specialist, the doctor will refer you. Don't just ignore the problem as you are totally correct in saying that binge eating is not healty. It is very harmful to your body and can cause much permanent damage.

Good luck....! And please, take care of you! You are worth it, you know!

It's called "compulsive eating" and it's not healthy. It's a form of an eating disorder. If you cannot control it, you should seek counseling to get it under control.
