good male friend for 10 years. Has told me that he has feelings for me but I cant read him. We are both very distant with each other during the day as we work together, but there is a connection there. He is also a major flirt, but never flirts with me. I have not followed through on my feelings because he has a reputation as a ladies man and I am afraid that he might not be sincere, but there is a lingering doubt in my mind as the other half of me sees the friend and how honest he is in that context. This not flirting with me, does that signal anything? bit odd to say you have feelings and be distant with the person? Can some men help me out here? Pretty urgent

if u cant read him then he is flirting. better keep a distance from him or if u want to try. have a try but keep one thing in mind of his flirt nature so that u will not hurt if he betrays u.

1) Know that he will flirt and be ok with that. If not do not do it.
2)He is running away from his own feelings. Thsi should be a warning. Not code red do not advance. But be slow and wait for you to trust him. If he is not flirting with you than he is at least partially sincere. Unless he already has you pegged for liking him. and then ignoring you that way is part of the game.

maybe he doesn't flirt with you becasue he takes you seriously. some people flirt because otherwise they wouldn't know how to break the ice and make friends (kind of like the class clown). and if he does have some sort of reputation, i would discuss it with him. people do like to gossip and more than 1/2 of what you hear is never really the truth. so find out from the horses mouth if you think that your friendship is really that strong.

Well, if he is not flirting with you he may like you and respect you but then again he may not... He said he has feelings for you. Friendship makes up for a percentage of a relationship. He may also not know how to approach you either... But I agree that you are being causious for he rep. but I would just file it in the back of my mind and keep things in check... Go and ask what do you have to loose?

Good luck

youve known him 10 yrs u should be able to trust ur instinct on this one, hes most likely got himself a reputation because its you he wants and everyone else he tries with just dont do it for him, he prolly hasnt seriously tried with you as he thinks you dont feel the same or his flirting wouldve got him somewhere by now , and he feels that it may spoil a wonderful friendship if it doesnt work out

Maybe he truely does and that is why he doesn't treat you like the other girls in the office, you are special to him and they are just a game. i would see how it goes but make sure you lay down some ground rules about his flirting with other woman.

well i'm not a guy but if i was you i'd try to go for it...work life is different from social life so yes it's normal to act distant at work...if he tells you he's got feelings, believe him...unless of course you're involved with sum1 else...anyways i'd bite the bullet and trust his words if i were you.
