If this bad mood has been going on for more than 6 months, you may need to see a psychiatrist. Depression is very hard to manage on your own.
However, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be learned from books. "I'll never have a girlfriend," and "I'll never have a real life," are examples of catastrophic thinking. This kind of thinking can be altered, and once it is, it loses most of its ability to make you feel miserable. You can criticize yourself for being lazy and even beat yourself up for it, but wouldn't it just be better to start doing some volunteering in your community? As for 'nothing happening', depression makes time seem to crawl. This is more than partly under your control - you could write about how you're feeling, and that's doing something. Just don't give up. You have lots of options.

Then stop b*tching about your life and do something about it. Nothing is ever going to change in your life if you don't do something to help yourself along. Ring ring Here's your wake up call. It can't be everyone else all the time. You can't fix anyone but yourself so maybe you could start there.

Stop telling yourself all of these negative things. The more negative thoughts you feed yourself, the more negative you will become. It is up to you to get your life on track and to realize your goals. Anything is possible if you put your mind and effort into it. Come on, you have a whole life ahead of you and you can accomplish anything you set out to do. Don't let others hold you back from getting what you want out of life.Take it each day as it comes and let your past go. Look forward. Good luck!

Don't be sorry...sometime we all need a sounding board. My forum is a great place to do that. I'm sorry you feel depressed. But maybe if you got out and got active...dancing lessons, excersize etc.. you might feel better and meet people. Attitude is important too. If you think you'll never find someone you won't.

i understand you esse. i felt like that just last month and the 23 years before that. you know, you just wish you didnt exist...but here's how i solved the problem. it wont obviously work for you this method but you can apply the principles. i managed to figure out that the reason i was unhappy like that was becoz of my low self-image and self-esteem. i did not like the way i looked. my body was too thin. so i decided to do something about it. i bought some vitamins and other "gym pharmaceuticals (if you know what i mean :))¨ and went to the gym. dude, i got bigger and bigger and stronger and so good looking i fell in love with myself and now i have no such loneliness or depression. try it. i hope it helps but i understand you esse

Go for a walk. Take your dog if you have one. Give flowers to an old lady who never has visitors. Read a good book. Have a good cry. Then get on with your life.

When you speak negative, you get negative results....speak positive, and positive things will happen to you.....To love or be loved, we must first be loved, Jesus loves us so much that He died on the cross for our sins, He came to give life, and life more abundently....all He wants is our hearts, so that He can fill us up with joy......Jesus loves you and has a plan for you.....God bless ya
