Honey I know how exactly you are feeling. I had a heart cath in Sept and I have had severe pain in my leg ever since and doctors are so scared to prescribe pain medicine I just said to my last primary I am in severe pain here and I come to you and it is your duty to treat me and if you can't then I will find another doctor so he said we will end this relationship I said fine and found a new primary and I laid it on the line right up front he subscribed me pain meds and said he can't do it long term I would have to get into pain management. I understand that but geeeeeeeez these doctors treat their doctors like drug addicts.
Just be firm and if they are not going to treat you fire them and look elsewhere. Stand Your ground

I feel for you. This is a result of managed care. Doctors have no time for us. Every doctor is passing the buck to the next doctor. Some doctors may feel that you are looking for those addictive pain killers. Doctors are not perfect and that is why they call it a practice. Because they are just practicing. Keep record of all that is happening so in the future if any medical condition is missed you can threaten to sue. I don't think you should make a life long occupation of suing because it just hurts the rest of us financially. If the doctor said I need to look at your 'Privates" yes that is very weird and it would turn me off to future visits. Maybe you have a yeast or bacterial infection. Look on the internet on how to break up kidney stones naturally. Look up "Dr. Hulda Clark". She tells us to clear up stones in the liver and gallbladder by drinking fresh squeezed lemon juice mixed with olive oil. You must go to that site because I can not be sure the info I am giving you is correct for this condition.

It sounds like the doctor followed good protocol, even if you didn't like the word choice. Doc was probably trying to make you feel more comfortable with the homespun word choice, but it backfired because of your anger over the pain. Not everyone says the right thing, but it's the intent that counts. It was correct to do a pelvic exam to rule out other causes and to not give too many addicting pain killers or you'll have a worse problem like drug addiction after the stone is passed. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Some doctors have a habit of talking down to their patients, like asking if you 'have the sugar' instead of asking if you have diabetes. Some are oddly uncomfortable with the language they have to use and so use simple words. I wouldn't go back to him only because, having had a kidney stone myself, I know how agonizingly painful it can be, and so would he know since its so common, go to the ER, you will be presenting with new more intense symptoms and you should get some pain relief, and don't worry about becoming an addict, unless you already have that problem its not that common since the stone usually passes before any addiction sets in, in normal people. You don't sound like you have good doctors there since at the least your personal physician should be willing to see you though the pain.

Im a resident doctor...and personally i feel that you doctor should have never spoke to u like that. I apologize but try and get another doctor or change your health care provider. In case of a 2mm stone they usually pass out on their own occassionally there is a chance of infection or just the fact it may just be stuck. You should get a USG or sonography done make sure the stone is out if not then operate. If the stone is out then u may just have a urinary tract infection. If you dont mind is they type of pain burning or is it extremely painful radiating from the back to your genitals? usually burning will hint at an infection and radiating pain will be toward the stone. Hope i helped.

You can request to see a different Urologist. Keep in communication with your primary care provider. This is key for continuity of care. Ask your doctor to refer you somewhere else if you are not happy with this specialist. This can be accomplished by talking to your doctors nurse. Open communication with your doctors nurse can be very helpful too. Nurses are great advocates for patient care. This may require that you go to a doctor who works a little farther away than the most convenient specialist but you want to make sure you are getting the best care.
It is also important to be your own best advocate when navigating the healthcare system. Go to doctors you are comfortable with. You can also go online and find out if your doctor is board certified in the specialty in which they are practicing (that means that they have extra training in their specialty). One website is ABMS.org - the American board of medical specialties. This site requires that you register by confirming your email but there is no charge to search for your doctor.
hang in there and get a doctor that will work with you. A trip to the ER can be really pricey compared to a regular office visit.

if your uncomfrortable with the specialist, you should find a new one.
some of them tend to use common terms instead of the scientific (even though pelvis and penis are no-brainers) to help put the patient at ease.
And any doctor that wants to protect their practice would be warry of writing pain pills willie-nilley.
it's a tough situation, but it comes down to YOUR right to health care that you are satiisfied with.
Befrore you go writing letters or reporting people to the board.. just try and see if you can get reffered to another urologist.

call your usual well being care specialist and tell the nurse or well being care specialist that the urologist that he despatched you to grow to be very unprofessional and also you may decide on to confirm yet another urologist. also, i'd not believe him, on account that he did not even use clinical terminology. it truly is weird and wonderful that the well being middle emergency room despatched you residing house. My mom-in-regulation had a similar situation and they were better effective than that on the well being middle. purely call your conventional care clinical specialist and demand to confirm yet another urologist. I had to save calling continuously till I were given someplace at the same time as my son needed a pro. It worked! now and again try to be rude to get what you opt on, regardless of the indisputable fact that it should not be that way. i'm hoping you sense better effective quickly! Oh, and everybody who says you're being too "emotional" has been fortunate adequate to not in any respect have a kidney stone for 2.5 months. hi! It hurts and it stops you from residing your generic existence.

The most important thing is that you do not feel comfortable with this doctor . Secondly he is not addressing your needs. You need to get another referral from your primary care physician to see a different urologist.
You need to educate yourself in regards to any health issue. I always google search any ailment that I need to know about. I found a great website for kidney stones(both my daughter and daughter in law suffer from them).
The website is http://kidney.niddk.nih.gov/kudiseases/pubs/stonesadults/

You have the RIGHT to proper health care in a reasonable amount of time.
Go to the ER and get treated. If it's bad, document everything and sue the doctors. That seems to be the way some of them learn.
And if you have ab ombudsman, have them listen to the conversations, or come along. Or record the comversations.
