I love them however a no go for me, have been for 1 several times however returned with a piercing instead, as watching the people being done before looks like it's terribly painful, if ever I do get I would love a butterfly with tribal on either sides of the wings only in colour no black to be used and in the area the back where a g-string would sit, and knowing from my sister that once done you always want more then would go for 2 cherry hearts in the groin area and or a stemmed rose on my ankle in UV so only noticed in nightclubs

I think a couple tattoos are cool, but I am not a fan of sleeves or any other large pieces. I like ones that can be covered very easily by a piece of clothing. I have one of a girl devil and a boy angel kissing. It is on my lower back, very low. I told the guy who did it that I was a business major in college so he put it at as low as he could so it could be covered easily. I've never heard of a giraffe tat, that's awesome!

Tattoos are not anyone's generation, they were once thought to be a sign of rebellion . and also thought as a mockery, a desecration. To mark ones skin was very anti christian. On the contrary they are a mere form of expression. To each is own, They are very personnel and very permanent!!! If you want one, then get one or two but they are definitely going to be there forever and make sure you are real positive on the design. You can have a cover up with another design. and surgery to remove them leaves ugly scarring. I have two and they are for mine and my sweeties eyes only. One is on my lower back-the quoted not tramp stamp!!and one on my ankle that i at times regret. I'll probably redesign my anklet. giraffe sounds so sweet.

Tattoos rock. They use to have a bad stigma attached to it but luckily that is a thing of the past. My tattoo is a work in progress but is very symbolic for me. I have the eye of Ra on my lower back (start) then I am getting dragons on either side of it. To finish off I will be getting tribal wings designed so that it looks like the dragons are breathing them out until my navel. I personally think that tattoos should be symbolic & not a fashion statement.

I think they are a personal thing and some can look really cool and others really naff.
I have one so far of an egyptian eye of horus on my right ankle and am going to be getting another egyptian themed one on my left ankle then one on my wrist. I also like my tattoos to be covered up when I'm working or going for job interviews as you can be judged (unfairly) on them.
I like tattoos that actually mean something to you that you won't regret 2 weeks later!!
A giraffe sounds cool though as it obviously means something to you

I am against them. No matter how cool the art work is, they look trashy to me. But if you are going to get one, you should get one because it means something. Don't just get one because it's the cool thing to do these days. And make sure that it is somewhere that you can cover it easily. Even in this day and age, tattoos are a negative in the job market. Unless you are going to be a tattoo artist or a rock star.

I have only ever wanted 3 tattoos in my life and over the course of a year 3 years ago finally finished doing them.
A tribal scorpion and my initial (shin to ankle)
A black rose and italic Numbers(on right shoulder)
A Betty boop in iconic pose (on left shoulder my first )
I know I will never regret them as I have wanted them from when I was 15( now a lot older) but decided to do my body piercings first.

I don't think there is ONE answer to this question. I personally LOVE tattoos, but they aren't for everyone. I have somewhere between 8 and 10, and I already wish I hadn't gotten 1, but its ok. All of my tattoos, can be covered for any business meeting, and if I am interviewing for a job or something, I do warn them because not all of them are necessarily covered at one time. I have: a very small cross on my left ankle, a chinese symbol for wicked on my right calf, a sun/star on my hip, a heart with mine and my husband's initials on my butt, a heart on my wrist (its a family thing), a rose with my husband's name on my chest, a crown on my right upper arm that says "Daddy's Lil Princess" underneath it, a shooting star with my mom's name in it (she died when i was a year old) at the base of my neck, a sun and moon on each shoulder blade... I plan for my back to be one big tattoo, but its in pieces right now because of money and time. My advice to ANYONE getting a tattoo is... before you do, think about what you want for a year, and make sure you can live with it.

I have several tattoos. I have a shamrock on my lower back with the Irish flag colors, a superman symbol in memory of my grandpa on the right of my back, I have a Kanji symbol for peace on my forearm, tomorrow I am going for the outline of my chest piece. It's going to be a heart. I'm really into body art as you can tell. My opinions are that tattoos are a great way for expressing art. However, your career needs to be taken into consideration. All of my tattoos can be covered up for when they need to be. I think people should just put a lot of thought into what they get. All of my tattoos it took me years to think of and finally decide on. :)

I think you should be very certain about what you choose.. do you think tweety bird on your butt will be cool when you are 60? If so, then it is a personal decision. But I wouldnt do it just because it is "in". I especially dislike the term "tramp stamp" to collectively describe the lower back tats some girls have just above the low slung jeans with the thong peeking up.
Personally I like tats, have two which are personal to me but that you cant see unless I want you to. Be aware that many people find visible tattoos vulgar and a barrier to professional employment. Also women should keep gravity in mind as well when deciding where to put a tattoo.
Henna can be an attractive and less permanent choice too.
