The best way to drink vodka is straight out of the freezer. It doesn't freeze because alcohol lowers the freezing point of liquid. The higher the alcohol content, the lower the freezing point.

Alcohol has a much lower freezing point in water. I normally keep my liqour in the freezer so it's nice and cold. Don't try this with beer though, because the alcohol content isn't sufficient to prevent it from freezing.

It won't freeze in a home freezer, the temperature in there never gets low enough. Liquor's freezing point is much lower than water; however beer and wine contain much more water and will freeze up if left in the freezer.

beer and wine seem to freeze solid because they still have so much water to them.

Vodka on the other hand is not so much water as it is alcohol.

I have stuck a beer in the freezer and pulled it out when it was kind of slushy. I drank the liquid, and left the icy bit. Later, after the icy bit melted, I tasted the melt. It was very watery. This lead me to believe that the water portion was what froze, thereby concentrating the not-water portion.

alcohol will freeze, just at a much lower temperature than water.

your freezer at home should be about -18 degrees celcius, at which temperature alcoholoic drinks like spirits won't freeze due to the high alcohol content but beer will, as there's a low alcohol content.

suprisingly narrow minded of many answerers to think that if something doesn't freeze in a domestic freezer then it doesn't freeze at all....

Pure alcahol doesnt freeze no. ie if you put a bottle / can of beer in the freezer it will freeze because it is not pure alcahol but if you put a bottle of vodka in the freezer it wont freeze, cannot remember the exact reason why put something to do with the fact it is pure alcahol. i always put the vodka in the freezer when having a party its great just keeps it cold.

I'm not sure exactly why it has such a low freezing point but I've heard that people in Siberia have to warm their vodka in front of the fire before drinking it or it would freeze their throats and kill them because it's so cold there. not really the point but interesting anyway
