I'm running a standard PAL Wii though the supplied leads into a scart connection on my TV, but the picture is distorted. The sides of the picture are okay but the middle is squashed vertically, so things become thinner in the centre of the screen. The effect isn't too bad, but it's noticeable. Both the TV and Wii are set to wdescreen.

Is there something wrong with the settings on the Wii, TV or both? Should I try a different scart socket (the TV has three).

Any ideas, please?

wow, lots of varibles to sort out.

Check to ensure cables aren't loose.

Firstly get better cables from wii to tv ( as the one given are generic and naff ).

TRY av 1 or 3

Nothing wrong with wii and tv both being on widesreen.

It would be your cables connection letting you down

Is your tv set to Widescreen or Panaramic?

On my Samsung tv, there are two different setting for widescreen viewing: (16:9) and (Panorama) 16:9 gives you the view youre looking for, and Panorama gives the view you described.

I honestly dont know what the advantages of panorama over 16:9 might be, but i know both options are offered on my tv.

Hopefully this can help.
