Yes I was on it and it is a horrible horrible drug, there are now safer ones, it constantly made me feel dizzy and weak I would often have to ring someone I knew that was near by to help me down a flight or stairs or even stand up as I felt I would probably break my neck if I attempted it by my self.
It constantly made me feel dead and horrible , it is considered a major tranquilizer and while adjusting the side affects are horrible, it can also cause liver damage aswell as raising prolactin, it may cause tumors in the pituitary gland. This may recur even if the patient has switched to a different antipsychotic
Common side effects include nausea, anxiety, dizziness, insomnia, low blood pressure, muscle stiffness, muscle pain, sedation, tremors, increased salivation and weight gain (it is not uncommon for patients taking risperidone over long periods to gain upwards of 50 pounds or even more). It has also been known to cause sexual dysfunction such as retrograde ejaculation.
There are better meds out there the majority of anti-psychotics cause weight gain, some less than others look at the link below to see reviews of medications

I just started on a different "brand" of it - Invega. It makes me kind of "spacy" and I am very tired in the mornings (unusual for me) but I'm sure as time goes on those will go away.
