I'm a little concerned about my work colleague who has been taking eight pro-pain a day, (a painkiller containing codeine) for nearly ten years). Surely, this can't be good for her. She's trying to cut down but says she's addicted. What are the potential repercussions?

Thanks

hi there,
the possible reprecussions are liver and kidney failure, can cause respiratory problems like slow slow breathing....also can
cause major stomach problems, severe constipation, intercranial pressure, and i think i am probably going on and on a little too much here. so that will give you some ideas as to what happens when you take too much of this drug.......now about the withdrawl symptoms==== it is a bit*h !!! you feel nausea with vomiting, severe diarrhea, headache, watering nose & red waterey eyes......body and muscle cramping, stomach cramping and when you have pain it feels like the pain is so much worse than it really is.....and if she has been taking this drug for 10 years then she is going to come down hard.....believe me, every word of this is true !! why ????because i have been there and was not very happy about the situation that i had gotten myself into........it was the worst thing i have ever gone through...and i was on painkillers for about 15 years...my doc
just kept on saying OK and never turned me down. i could have anything i wanted.......didn't matter what it was, i got a prescription for anything i wanted......anyhow it took me 3 LONG
WEEKS to withdraw......alot of shaking and sweating and shivering.......i will never ever do this to myself again...and that's a fact jack.
i really do hope that i have helped you get the picture of what this ordeal can be like. oh and i forgot to tell you that when someone
wants to stop...then they MUST taper down gradually !!!!! or they will go through exactly what i went through
So, i do wish your friend the best of luck and may God keep her
safe, happy and healthy....and she has to do this gradually or she will really mess herself up !!!

this is an exceedingly risky difficulty for all in touch. habit is truly problematic. i'd think of somebody needs to get this out interior the open in the previous this is purely too late. in the adventure that your pal is truly on the factor of her father, perhaps she can chat with him. perhaps you may tell your parent approximately this and notice what's recommended. i understand one element, this would possibly not proceed with out some thing extraordinarily incorrect occurring. Your pal would desire to get disillusioned with you besides the indisputable fact that it would desire to be worth it in case you save someones existence. this is extra acceptable then down the line beating your self up thinking which you will desire to have finished some thing. i'm valuable all people in touch together with her mom and dad understand there is a few thing incorrect, so which you isn't ideas-blowing all of us or telling some great secret simply by fact this is already out..... stable success and that i wish each thing works out nicely

propain contains paracetamol, doxylamine, caffeine, and codeine

each of these ingeidents alone, in excess, can cause unplesant results.

Liver faliure, kidneys, blood pressure, etc.

She should consult with a specialist to ween her off of these. because if she exceeds the maximum daily dose and ODs it could spell trouble.
