I have had nausea for going on the 4th day straight. I can eat and drink - in fact, I feel much better when I do. But as soon as I put it down, I feel like I'm going to throw up. However, I haven't actually thrown up at all. Has anyone else had this? I'm beginning to think it's more than just a bug.

Dear Darlene,

If I felt better, I would let your arrogant reply slide. However, I'm in no mood for know-it-alls. I am very aware that "stomach flu" is not the proper medical terminology. But rather that use words such as "gastrointestinal virus/bacteria", I used lay terms. Besides I didn't ask for a vocabulary lesson. I simply wanted to know if anyone else had gone more than a couple days straight with nausea. Get over yourself.

First, yes, it can linger for a week or so, sometimes longer. I got a nasty bug a few weeks back, and it was no fun. Took about 9 days to get over. Good Luck.

Second, Darlene is a jack @$$. I hope when you feel like crap that someone treats you like you treat others!

Maybe you have an ulcer. I never had a stomach flu that lasted more than 1 - 2 days. Did you eat something that may have been undercooked or old? If so, then it is probably a flu. BUT if you have strange eating patterns (too much caffeine) maybe it is an ulcer.

It's a stomach virus, This is my 5th day with it and I've had diarrhea with mine. I went to the DR yesterday with it, and he said lots of clear fluids, not juice, bland food, nothing fried. He said it's going around and it takes several days to go away. Hope you feel better soon!

Look it up on the internet. There is no such thing as a stomach flu. When you have the flu your stomach can collect bacterial and cause your stomach to cramp, cause you to vomit and get the runs but there is no such thing as a stomach flu.And yes it can last for 1-2 weeks..............................So if you think you know the proper name why are you calling it something else? Kind of like a 2 year old calling a black car a red car.Now you get over yourself and quit being such a crank @ss and use the proper names for stuff.
