Forgive me for not knowing the correct terms but I was wondering if anyone had a passage or poem one can use for a funeral? The one I like ..I thinks it called “The Hidden Counsels of God“…..I believe its in the book of Wisdom:…but I want one with more feeling in it….any ideas....

Psalms 23:1-6........Jehovah is my Shepherd.
I shall lack nothing.

 2 In grassy pastures he makes me lie down;
By well-watered resting-places he conducts me.

 3 My soul he refreshes.
He leads me in the tracks of righteousness for his name’s sake.

 4 Even though I walk in the valley of deep shadow,
I fear nothing bad,
For you are with me;
Your rod and your staff are the things that comfort me.

 5 You arrange before me a table in front of those showing hostility to me.
With oil you have greased my head;
My cup is well filled.

 6 Surely goodness and loving-kindness themselves will pursue me all the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of Jehovah to the length of days.

Anything about god should not be included in a book of wisdom. Find a poem thay fits the person's life or philosophy. At my funeral, I would like to have read A Road Less Travelled by Robert Frost. It's not religious but it describes my approach to life

Someone Needs You
Life is never empty when there is someone needing you
Life is never futile when there’s something you can do
Something you can do to help, or something you can say
To lighten someone’s burden, or brighten someone’s day

Don’t give way to loneliness, depression or despair
Just because you live alone and face a vacant chair
The world is full of people, there is much for which to live
Someone needs you – someone wants the things that you can give.

Or any of the psalms from the Bible :-)
