By that i mean a glaze of paint etc

You would have to use a water based glaze over an Acrylic Paint.
You can purchase the glaze any craft or speciality paint store, even at Wallmart.
Let the Acrylic dry thoroughly, then topcoat with the glaze.
Be care full not to over brush the glaze (which means to keep brushing back into the drying glaze) or you will leave noticeable brush marks and/or it could gum up on you.

Your question is unclear.

By glaze, do you mean "frame with a glass pane", or do you mean, "coat the painting in a thin layer of glaze, or varnish"?
