Take him out and do something special for him because maybe he feels like the world has made it a females holiday. You might have pushed him too hard also. Maybe he is low on cash. So make him feel special and he may come around. Show him it is a holiday that both you can enjoy.

Your boyfriend is making a point. Many people do not really like Valentnes Day either, including me. I always buy a card, a small gift or take my wife out for dinner. I do it because she likes it. Basically its just a Hallmark Day..........sell more cards, sell more candy and roses. Store owners love the day because it brings in more $$$$$$$$$$.
Yes we men are getting ripped off again.

If it matters THAT much to you, call him and invite him to a dinner to celebrate your new singlehood on Valentine's Day.
There is nothing we men like more than a stiff upper cut to the gut!

You will never be able to convert his way of thinking. He obvisouly has some reason for not celebrating. Maybe he thinks it is paganistic and too comercial.

Looks like you'll have to be the one to come up with some ideas...
make it romantic and fun for him....
he'll catch on and hopefully next year it'll be his turn to celebrate with his ideas for you.
wish you luck there!
