mohomed had a morbid fear for dogs. he also had superstitious views about dogs as well. this is what he told muslims,
angels do not enter a house that has a dog or a picture of a dog in that house.
(sahih bukari 4/54/539)
mohomed ordered that all dogs should be killed
(bukari 4/54/540)
why was mohomed such a superstitious man?
lol

1- Angels don't enter a house that has an image or dog .. because it's forbidden to have them as a memer of the family and angels don't enter places like that.
2- As for killing dogs, the prophet said:
Bukhari 4:531, Narrated 'Aisha
The Prophet said, "Five kinds of animals are mischief-doers and can be killed even in the Sanctuary: They are the rat, the scorpion, the kite, the crow and the rabid dog."
Edit: I forgot to say: according to islam it's allowed to have a dog for hunting or guarding .. Also according to a hadith a man was saved for giving a dog water to drink

killing dogs in islam or hurting animals i am a moslem and have never heared of that,,any way there was a hadith about a lady that prisioned her cat and didnt feed it and was punished by going to hell,,so whatever it is a true hadith or just a story to tell a virtue ,animals should be treated right and what goes for cats which is a pet animal goes for other like dogs and the only thing is that u shouldnt raise a dog in ur house but it is ok if u have him in a farm or garden of yours,,,this is how i understand islam ,,i dont know where u get those anti animal stories??/

i lived in morocco for two months last summer and out of the two months i spent a week in the sahara with some desert nomads...around the camps there were often stray dogs and cats. my friend, hammo, told me that dogs are worthless creatures. They do nothing for you. In cultures where there is not a lot of extra comforts...only nessessities...things like dogs seem like rediculous animals. you cant eat them, you cant ride them, theyre just another mouth to feed...i was told the only animals worth anything are donkeys, camels, horses, sheep, and goats..ha. its a cultural difference. i didn't know it was that deep rooted in the religion though.
