This is not about me The man has a masters degree and is a working here as a translator He has been in the uK 4 and a half years He is not a muslim and is White caucasian He swears to me he is in love My original question was If u vaguely know someone for a few months then start dating them and after 6 weeks you move in with them and 3 weeks later you accept their proposal do you think this relationship will work? What are the chances they will get married eventually? They dont argue and appear happy at the moment and think they really know each other very well so nothing can go wrong I know you can feel love that fast but is it real? They have lived together for 6 weeks now so have dated for 12 weeks in total They are both aged 30 and really want a family etc To complicate matters they need to decide fast as he needs a certificate of approval of marriage as he is not an EU citizen and his visa expires at the end of March They then need to marry within a year

I wouldn't rush into it just because he needs a certificate of approval of marriage.......let him get a new visa....bad idea to rush just because his visa expires....big RED FLAG; if he is really in love, he'll do what it takes to get back

i had the same satory , except that he isn't a foreigner and is a very prosperous wealthy man. i thought i got it all. and unlike u i discussed with him everything about future life, cos i also have 3 kids. he was promising heavens on earth. we were so in love i can't even describe u. we couldn't excist without each other even for a day. guess what? 2 years we have been married, and i think after summer he will move away and we get a divorse. so u can't deside now whether u will live happily or not, give it at least one year. also this visa stuff whatever u say sounds very fishy. and who is a bread winner in your relationships? does he win enough bread?

Do you think he is just marrying you to get a visa? How do you feel, It could work if you both put effort into it it takes 2 to make a marriage work.

Time will tell, but....you threw in a monkey wrench at the end. Does he have ulterior motives? Not enough here to tell for sure.
