Now I use DVD composite cable (yellow, red & white) as an input to Ordinary AV input of the display i.e TV. My DVD player (Onida) also has one component out ( blue, green & red ) [ denoted as Y,Pb/Cb,Pr/Cr ]. Can I use the same cable from the component output of DVD to the TV having component in? Or do I have to go for compatible component cable? If I use the same cable is there any quality reduction.

You better use the cable thats called for, otherwise you are asking for problems.

As long as they have RCA jacks, you can use any cable you want. However, you will need now 3 cables (vs 1) for video.
So, if you have an extra audio cable, you can use

Y - Yellow
Pb - White
Pr - Red

Use W/R for audio and you are all set.
