Most asians have epicanthal folds in their eyelids, "oblique palpebral fissures that create almond-shaped eyes" (see Wikipedia ref). So called "almond eyes," see ref 2 (LOL !!)

The eyes themselves of asians and caucasians are not very different, just the eyelids. The "mongolian eye folds" don't obscure vision at all. Any variation that significantly reduced visual ability would have been strongly selected against. Epicanthal folds are present in a large fraction of the human population probably because they confer some advantage in natural selection.
