If it means more money for NASCAR. They'll do anything for a buck.

Most likely cause American car companies own alot of foreign manufactures and some foreign manufactures own American companies. Nascar's dilemma is that there are no true American companies out there anymore and they have to look at that Nascar would be alot more exciting if they had more than 3 or 4 manufactures in the sport. I mostly watch because of the driver's, not the manufacturer.
I don't even buy product's because they are in Nascar. I buy what I like and what's works for me. Like Dodge, would never own a Dodge. Don't care for their look, and don't care to have my vehicle in the shop for more of it's life than I get to drive it. My wife wanted a PT Cruiser so bad, I had to finally give in. The 2 years we have owned this piece of crap it has been in the shop every other month for 1 thing or another.
Also, remember that MG was in Nascar in 63, so before people start complaining about foreign manufactures coming into the sport maybe they should do some research.

Honestly no, Ive been involved with nascar for many years, my uncle worked as the head mechanic for bill Elliot in the early 90's and Ive had something to do with the series ever since. I honestly don't see Toyota even making more than 3 years in the series. Chevy, ford, Pontiac, Dodge. Its the big 4 champ, you just can't touch it. Yota came in with big bucks, that's all they got. their cars are slower, the technology is far behind. no foreign cars will make it into the nextel cup. the tundra has a good fan base, and that's where Toyota has its pull from. to have a car in the cup a manufacturer needs to have a car with 4 doors, a engine smaller than 450 ci, and car and parts have to be available to the general public. The demographic NASCAR goes after is not the hoity-toity Le-mans drivin' car enthusiast. They want the boys thatll be the first fools in a 70 cudda runnin Budweiser from Georgia to north Carolina if they ever establish Prohibition again... i know ill be in line. Can you really picture runnin moonshine in an Aston martin?!!? didn't think so.

Without a doubt. Anything that Americans touch gets bastardized with money and NASCAR is no exception. NASCAR and the sponsors want you to believe what they bring you is all about racing. Not so. The reason NASCAR has been reducing the number of short-track races is because the sponsors don't want their cars dented and wrinkled so the sponsors name can't be easily seen. That's why NASCAR is moving to the look-alike, cookie-cutter tracks. The sponsors want their cars to go around in a circle, single file, so everyone can see their name. It doesn't take an American made car to do that. Foreign car manufacturers, especially Japanese, have tons and tons of money and NASCAR can't wait to get their hands on it.

God I hope not...I am still steamed about Toyota weasling their way in...after all, it is the NATIONAL Association of Stock Car Racing, not international...so why did they let Toyota in anyway???? Oh yeah, now I remember...NASCAR is on the same kick as the NFL...trying to 'diversify' their audience...so I guess they hope all the tuner guys will be like "Wow, look, a 'yota in NASCAR, totally rad" or since this guy Montoya is driving, all of the sudden NASCAR is going to have a huge Spanish/Mexican following...Personally, I say leave NASCAR to the rednecks that love good ol' fashioned American-Made muscle. Bottom line, it's all for the ratings...

The only othermanufacturer that I can see in the series is going to be Honda. There havent been many european manufacturers that seem interested in american motor sports to be honest. BMW, Mercedes, and Aston Martin would not think to be in the series, as I cant see them building cars here in America. I think within 5 years the next one will be Honda, and after that there wont be much interest from eruopean manufacturers.

Marcos Ambrose i do not see how all and assorted ought to unlike him. I were given a probability to fulfill him at an autograph consultation at Darlington. He has such an extremely good ideas-set. His skills have not been restricted to in hardship-free words the line classes. He has been doing solid on a number of the ovals too. In yet another 3 hundred and sixty 5 days or 2 he ought to absolutely be a Chase contender.

yes nascar will welcome (and so will the sponsors) any out side influence that add fans to the existing fan base, how many new fans do you think dodge brought to the table ? not many, but if your say Pepsi or Budweiser are you there to help dale Jr or Jeff Gordon? no of corse not, your there to sell beer and soda,
a BMW would bring a lot of thirsty German eyes to your Budweiser car, so like it or not nascar will grow its to the benefit of the sponsors, its to the benefit of fox sports and ESPN, its to the benefit of nascar and its to the benefit of the racers,

With the COT it wont matter. They are trying to get like Indy cars or formula one. A cookie cutter car that has no resemblance to any manufacturer's product. then the only difference from one manufacturer to another will be the money they are throwing in the pile.
