Many soldiers *do* realize that. They aren't so sensitive that they'll fall into despair at the thought that we want them safely home. That said, and considering that it *should* be a phased withdrawl and not an all-at-once thing, the previous idea about writing and sending care packets is a good one. So is writing your congressmen and demanding that they provide enough freakin' body armor for the soldiers overseas, and medical care for those who have come home hurt or sick in return for their bravery.

Big Dave,
I have gone through a lot of the questions you have answered and I have to say I agree with "Proud American" and "koalatcomics" 100%. You are a phony. Your answers to questions are sarcastic, accusing against Bush and the U.S. military. Fine, have your opinion about Bush, but remember this.....those soldiers, marines, arimen and sailors are deployed around the world to protect your right to call them "cold blooded killers". From the answers that I read that you gave you could care less about any of the soldiers anywhere. You are stuck in your own little world and have no clue about patriotism or concern for their welfare. Knowing that they are in a dangerous place, what do you actually do to make their lives better? Do you send them care packages, do you write your congressman to put pressure on our government, do you anything besides give sarcastic answers to people who really are looking for understanding about situations. Have you ever served in the military and if you did have you ever deployed to any war time location? I have been in the military for more than 18 years and I DEFEND YOUR FREEDOM. You should be thanking the military and be genuine about wanting them safe and wanting them home. They can't come home right now, so why don't you do something to help make them safe or even just a little more comfortable. Try sending them care packages. Try the website below

The anti-war protests are seen and heard by our enemies - the ones actually shooting and blowing up the friends of the men and women fighting - and the message to them is "hold on, terrorists, America is getting ready to quit."
I don't think that conveys a message to our troops that the left supports the soldiers, encouraging the enemy as it does (whether intended that way or not).
PS Given your other questions, I really doubt you are concerned for our troops.

As a military wife the most difficult thing you will ever do in your life is send the love of your life to war. In addition, as a military wife, I have to understand and embrace his love for our country, our president, and his job.
Whether it is justified or not, our servicemembers go to war, risk their lives, leave behind everything they have ever known... because they are told to do so. It is heroic to go to war and do their part, despite their own personal political beliefs. They go and they do a fine job! And to see civilians protesting a war they feel is for oil, bragging rights or whatever. That is a slap in the face. That tells my husband and thousands of other men and women proudly serving that their sacrifices are meaningless.
I want my husband home. I want to get on with our lives but you will NEVER see me protesting this war. Our military has a mission and I stand behind them. How can you support the troops if you do not support what they are doing?

being a soldier is what they have been trained to do
and being in a warzone is sometimes safer than crossing the road
construction workers have a dangerous job but you would probably live in a high rise apartment if you were given the chance
they want there families and friends to live in a safe world so they go to far away lands to try to provide everybody with the freedom to do things like ask questions on Yahoo!
also a construction foreman/supervisor takes preventative measures to avoid accidents and so does the military when they train soldiers and buy their equipment ( body armour to lower casualties)
some people like yourself do not think about these which is not your fault you just don't know
but i hope that i have taught you something that you did not know
hope this helps dude
if not send me an e-mail and i will try to explain

You are phony. This little plea coming from someone who also responded to a question and said....
Question- "Do you feel US soldiers deserve to be treated like celebrities?"
Your Answer- "Anyone who can shoot someone in cold blood should be treated like celebrities ........ "
Your "concern" for the soldiers isn't real. The only thing that is real where you are concerned is you are a self absorbed Brit who enjoys bashing anyone who doesn't have the same beliefs as you, Americans and the United States.
You can claim all you want that you are sincere in your concern. It isn't. The soldiers fighting in Iraq are a tool to you to be used to spread hate.

The soldiers are there because they joined voluntarily. They were not drafted. If they are brave souls, and choose to go, who are you to tell them that their mission is not justified? Who are you to call their efforts "fruitless" ?
You're not honoring them. You don't care one iota for those soldiers. You have your anti-war agenda, and you're trying to look good in your own eyes.
If you cared about them, you'd support them. And you would support their mission. They're out fighting terrorists on foreign soil so it doesn't come to these shores. And since we have not been attacked on this soil since 2001, they must be doing a damned good job! It's easy for you to sit there and rant about the war and the soldiers who are fighting it from the comfort of your own cozy little home. Until you have put on a uniform and slung an M-16 over your shoulder, you have no right to tell any soldier or veteran what is right or what is wrong, you hypocrite!

My husband is a soldier in Iraq and he has wanted to come home since Day 1. He hasn't really mentioned anything about the politics of the war. He just does what he is told to do and then shuts it all out to talk to me.

TROLL ALERT! TROLL ALERT! TROLL ALERT!
Aside from this, Big Dave has also posted questions asking if he could get out of being deployed to Iraq with his unit, what he should expect in Basic Training, if he could smart-mouth his drill sergeant when he went to basic training and get away with it, and several other posts which contradict each other.
BIG DAVE IS A PHONY, A FRAUD, AND A TROUBLEMAKER.
HE IS A TROLL. IGNORE HIM.
