i really want a tattoo and was considering getting one on my upper chest, from my coller bone and to right before the beginning of my breast. i was wondering if you girls who have chest tattoos regret getting them. like when wearing dresses/formal dresses..or any other reasons for regrets...

My two cents are... if you want a tattoo get a tattoo! As far as men are concernd I wouldnt want a guy who couldnt get over something as superficial as body art. that's like someone not liking your personal beliefs... you can do without that kind of controling behavior.
and as far as getting older goes... havn't you seen old people still rocking cool tattoos? I know I have (my mom is one of them!) 30 years and they still look good (she got her first at 20) I know the latter exists but it's not the only fate that exists for that tattoed.

I am always very careful about what I get as a tat and where. I'm not your average punk/rocker, I like to get dressed up for formal occassions and I can assure you as long as your comfortable in your own skin you'll feel just as good with or without.
I've never had an occasion where i thought my tattos were out of place. They mean soo much to me as my own personal expression. they're pretty much carried as part of my personality and are thusly worn the same.

people who worry about getting jobs dont need to worry so much these days either. we are living in progressive times and it's just not a big deal anymore. as long as what you do you do well, you can succeed in any type of business, tattoos and all... i know from experience from dealing with people who would say "oh you'll never find a good job now!" I have a good job and so do my friends.
if your still questioning give it time. if you still want the same thing after a year then you know it's something you really want. if in a year you feel like you can't make up your mind then avoid the risk.

hope I helped a little, I hate it when people are down on tattos because no matter how many people jump on the band wagon they are still logically a form of art that a person can uniquely embrace for themselves

ok I'm done I promise!

Ok, I'm in 100% agreement with Raquel! You asked a pointed question and got a bunch of rubbish about not getting a tattoo at all and how it'll look crummy when you're 80. Sorry people but an 80 year old breast in general isnt the most attractive sight in the world tattooed or not!

I don't regret getting my tatt at all. I wanted mine for 10 years and finally got it done for my birthday last year (maybe i havent had time to regret it but i dont think thats it). If its something you really want, perhaps get a temp to make sure you like the look of it and the placement on yourself and if you do then go for it! It would be really good to do some research about the tattoo artist first as well, if someone has an artist they recommend then even better! Tattoos are beautiful and are only ugly to small minded whimps who don't have the guts to allow self expression!

Oh and I am a professional who has a good job and earns good money with a loving husband and I get ALOT of compliments from men AND women about my tattoo. I have not had a single person critisize it but I'm sure I'll run into someone with an attitude like some people on here have one day.

Tattoos are about self-expression! Why worry about what other people are going to think? My friend got left & right tattooed on her wrists, I think they are dumb, but she absolutely loves them and could care less about what anyone else thinks! That's what tattoos are all about. Who cares what they will look like when your 80! What if you sit aroung regretting that you didn't get the tattoo at 80? I have a tattoo that is on the front of my left shoulder and that extends onto my chest (I can take my hand and almost completely cover it up, so it's not that big) and when I wear formal dresses I always wear a strapless one to show it off and I get many compliments on it. love my tattoos and if I didn't work in a corporate office I would have a full body suit! It's your body, wear what you want!

i have tattoos, but not a chest tattoo.
also, i don't plan on getting one, but i have seen some really great ones before.
if i were you, and this is something that you have been contemplating for a long time, i think you should definitely get it!!
i wouldn't worry about covering them up in formal dresses or anything like that, because they are a part of who you are.
i am getting married in July, and i do NOT plan on covering my tattoos, i just don't see the point of it.
my sister just got engaged a few weeks ago, she has tattoos as well.
i will be her maid of honor in her ceremony, and neither of us will be covering our tattoos!!
my tattoos are a part of me, sometimes i forget that i even have them.
and when i am 80 years old, i will have many more things to worry about.
if you think that you will regret it, then i would wait to get it until there isn't any doubt in your mind about it.
you only live once, and i would rather live happy and tattooed, than be miserable, stuffy, and uptight without tattoos, like some of the tattoo-haters are in this section!!

If you want it get it just make sure that it is something that you will love 20 years from now as much as you do now. You can always wear clothing that covers it up. I plan on getting one on my chest and it will end up being over my breast area but it is a picture of my dog and I want it over my heart it just happens that my boob gets in the way and like the other guy said an 80year old body is nothing to look at anyway besides in a 100 years nobody including you will give a damn.

I knew a lady that got a tattoo on her breast when we were in college...now that we are..not in college let's say a little older....the tattoo is no longer on her breast....it is above her breast because everything went south....

I love tattoos...and if you love tattoos..you probably won't want to be with someone that doesn't like tattoos, so don't worry about what that type of man thinks
just keep in mind that your body can change and the placement of your tat will change as well

I have a chest tattoo. Its from collar bone to collar bone and dips down to above my breast. I love mine. I have no shame in wearing dresses or anything. I have two tulips in purple and in the middle I have my married last name. I love in. It didnt hurt that bad so you can handle it. Also I have a lot of tatto's, in fact a half sleeve so I would never be ashamed of any of my tat's. But if you are uneasy about wearing a dress because it'll show, dont do it. I love mine but you might not love your's. You got plenty of time to think about it, dont rush it. if you decide to go for it, Good luck and Rock on babe

I don't have a chest piece, but I have considered it.
I do have tattoos around my nipples, though. And I absolutely love them!
