My arms always seem to be permenently itchy, I dont have any visable rashes as such, but if I rub my hand over a small area on the soft skin next to my elbow it is very bumpy and the skin feels dry, further down my arm there are larger bumps under the skin which are VERY itchy and I scratch then till they are sore,I have loads of scars on my arms which are very embarrassing , as these spots start to get better they get extremely itchy again and I am permenenty scratching my arms, does anyone know what is the cause, they are only on my arms..I have tried loads of creams and haven't changed any washing powders

It's definetly not scabies as that makes the skin red and covers a large area and the rash that I have is NOT visable

Tine to visit your doc to get the proper treatment, sounds to me like eczema, a very dry skin condition or it could be psoriasis or even dermatitis, only the doc will know for sure, go make an appointment and get advice.

Aqueous Cream for washing and moisturizing can be prescribed by doc or bought over the counter. I would avoid contact with all perfumes, soaps creams etc. and try to STOP scratching!

Wear natural cotton 100% against your skin.

Good Luck

Just possibly, you have developed a reaction to food additives. Anything with a six in its description may be the culprit - flavour enhancers 621, 635, and another 6, I can't remember which, have been accused of causing skin itching, either singly or more so in combination. They are cumulative - they stack up in the body for years, and then whammy! Have a good look at your diet, and see how much of it is either fast food, or supermarket packaging.

hi you say creams dont work, have you tried aqueus cream? it is very good for dry itchy skin, failing that you can buy piriton/ hayfever tablets at your local shop, these should stop the itch.
