Try the TOYOTA TRUENO AE86 it has a front engine, rear wheel drive lay-out. It is also equipped with a 1.6L DOHC 16 valve engine or also known as the 4A-GE.

Now a days, it only cost 100-150 thousand pesos.

I'm 18 and I'm planning to buy a car for two years now, but I want my first car to be a BRAND NEW. I also brought a car when I was 17. I did not transfer it to my name because it is USED. I sold it after a month in a lower price ofcourse. It really needs a lot fixing.

Hey Sean,

My recommendation is to go for something small and economical. it also depends on how much you have to spend...

If you can afford it, look out for a Suzuki alto, these are a 1.1 16v, they are reported to do 56MPG and can go up to 70MPG on a nice run, they don't cost alot to insure and only £22 to fill up!!
The other main advantage for this vehicle is that you can get one still in manufactures warranty or just out of warranty for approx £1900 upwards. you have the benefits of a newer car and reliability also.
They are suprisingly nippy and the tax only cost £40 per year!! beat that!

If you don't like these cars, go for something like a 1.4 civic, not too dear on insurance, economical and definitely reliable.

Clio's, fiesta's, polo's, 205's, 206's, 306's, 106's, megane's, escort's, corsa's, micra's, Astra's, Ka's, metro's, Punto's etc there is so much choice out there for vehicles.

Although alot of the vehicles listed above will be older models and you possibly looking at rusty un-reliable vehicles with costly repairs.

At the end of the day its down to your decision of the type of vehicle you like, although you do need to get out there and test drive some.
speak to friends and family.

It is a fun time when buying a new car, even if its used, its new to you!
But make sure you get an hpi check done when your serious about a car... its important.

Hope this helps

If you haven't got too much money a Ford Fiesta is super value. The parts are cheap and they are easy to work on. They are a zippy car, particularly the bigger engine ones like the 1600. They used them at Brands Hatch as the examination cars for a racing licence so they are quick. I have had a couple and loved them

How about the Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2, they have all the sporty looks and style, they have a 16v engine and they are only group 2 insurance.

Or you could just go for the Corsa 1.0Ltr which is only group 1.

Both cars are nippy and have good interior space.

Try to go for as new as possible because older cars are getting more and more to insure.

Go for small capacity car - as the Insurance and Tax is cheep.

I had an 'original' mini - that was cheep to insurance, tax and run. On a couple of occasions I drove all the way to Birmingham from Bristol and three quarters of the way back on a single tank of fuel.

I was paying two thirds of the price on Insurance that my brother was paying for his Ford Escort.

a ford fiesta or a renault clio smething small like that - insurance depends on how popular the cars are. If you get a very popular car then it is more likely to be broken into/stolen than a less popular car. Goodluck its exciting getting a new car!!! XXX

Forget the performance car for now , do yourself a favor and go get a honda . You won't regret it when gas prices are over 3.00 a gallon this summer .
