Im not the type of person that cries when i am having a fight with someone or in a conflict situation. I am a very strong person and able to fight my corner very well.

However I do cry when something lovely happens. On my birthday I saw an old friend that I havent seen for a long time and I started crying - a lot - I couldnt control myself.

At my oldest brothers wedding I was a bridesmaid and I was such a mess during the wedding, my makeup went everywhere and I looked like a troll!

I went to a film last night and cried like a baby all the way through, even the non sad parts.

My other brother is getting married next month and again I am bridesmaid..how can I stop myself getting over emotional (I sometimes try to think of other things to distract me from what is going on but I dont want to end up daydreaming through my brothers big day!)

What will happen when I get married? Am I going to look like a panda walking up the aisle?

I know this sounds like a dumb question!

Invest in some water proof mascara and just learn to love the fact that you have a heart! It is sweet that you get touched by things like that... it is just who you are and you should not be embarrassed by it or ashamed of it.

This may not be the answer you really wanted, but there is nothing you can do.

You are a special kind of person who is able to show emotions in a time like that. I'd feel proud about it, and just accept that it is going to happen.

As far as your wedding, you probably will become emotional, and probably will cry. If your worried about makeup running, try to get some that won't smear as easily, or try to go with as little as you can if you really need to.

Im a bit of a cry baby myself...sadly, the ONLY thing that can prevent me from shedding tears is alcohol. I wouldnt get outrageously drunk, just a couple glasses or wine or a mimosa or two to relax me.

my advice would be to wear waterproof mascara!!

I am usually like that too, but on my wedding day i was fine until i was walking down the aisle, near the end i looked at mum and she was bawling(i am the youngest), then i just couldn't help it!! i was crying that much i couldn't say my vows!!lol

thats just who you are, you sound like a very compassionate person.

What's wrong with showing your emotions? I do it too, and I must admit-I try to hide it. But really, if it's a happy occasion, all people are thinking is that you're just so happy!!

i'm also emotional. for me, crying helps me alot. it lessen the "heavy" feeling inside. just let those tears cme out of your eyes. it's cute somehow. i also cry when i'm happy, sad. it's natural. girls are emotional. accept it. just make sure to have extra hanky with you in your bro's wedding or just make it a habit to always bring hanky with you all the time.

Cry. It's sweet, and no one will laugh at you for it. Wear waterproof mascara and carry extra makeup for touchups.

its simple: think about something that will and would never make you cry.

nothing basic, something u can immerse yourself into and move away from all the emotion

Not dumb. You sound a lot like you're chronically depressed. You might want to get some professional help.
