As an atheist I feel a bit left out, Christians have their crucifix, Muslims have their gear, Jews have their hats and curly hair, Rastas have their dreadlocks etc etc etc.
I have no objection to any of these forms of recognition, just feel a bit left out thats all. What shall we have??
No chance of any 'nice' answers I suppose? Thought not.

I wonder why so many folk think we have nothing to believe in. we simply do not believe in God or any religion, there are many other things we may or may not believe in, but the one thing we have in common is we dont beileve in God.

I think, as some of the previous posters have put, that there are some random symbols for atheism. But, I (personally) like the idea of the raised middle finger symbol. That has a lot of impact

If you are drawn by iconography there's the Double Helix from DNA. A Skull could symbolise No life after death, but perhaps be a bit macabre. Or perhaps a image of the Earth to symbolise appreciation and respect for Nature.

No, if you gave yourself a symbol it would be too much like a religion, and no Atheist wants to say that Atheism is a religion.

If I had to pick one for y'all, how about that Anarchy symbol, the "A" with the circle around it? Or maybe the international "no" symbol, you know the big red circle with the line through it.

The USA Army does have a symbol for atheists which is used on war graves. Its a sort of stylised atom sigil supposed to represent science/rationality, I think.

a religion has a symbol for a purpose as an atheist we have no god therefore not serving anyone or wearing there symbol.
an atheist does not need a symbol if they did want a symbol this would means they want to be branded, as an atheist do you want to be branded i think not.

I don't want a symbol. That would suggest that we're all in it together, all beleiving in the same thing - which sounds a bit like a religion to me.

But if we had to have a symbol, I'd go for a smilie ;-)

technically if you had a symbol you would be saying you had a belief because that's what a symbol is a symbol of a belief or faith stick without a symbol i say leave them to the believers

Interesting that the God squad think atheism equates to communism, anarchy and drifting - all we need now is for one of them to suggest a swastika and we'll have the complete set.

How about that man/woman picture thingy they sent off into space?
