My children were batised at about 2 or 3 months..good age because they are small enough to hold still, and most of the time they are still sleeping during most of the ceremony.

I have to agree with Justin H There's no way to really justify making such a personal decision for onother person. My feeling on this subject is so strong, that I don't attend infant baptisms at all. I have a family friend and a cousin who are due any time, and I don't plan on attending either baptism, because I can't condone it in any way.
Only when your child is older, can comprehend what religion is and has had the opportunity to learn about different belief systems can he decide what he believes and what religion he is going to adhere to, if any. The best thing a parent can do is give their child that time they need to come to their own conclusions, and be supportive of whatever they choose to believe.

I don't know about christened, seems like that's usually done with babies. But I don't think anyone should be baptized until they are old enough to know what they are doing and can do it of their own free will. Religion is a personal choice and each person needs to make it for themselves.
To be totally honest, I don't think any child should be taught any religion until they are old enough to understand what they are learning - raising kids on Veggie Tales creates little religious robots that aren't able to decide for themselves.

Depends on your religion. Some believe you should wait for the child to be old enough to accept the baptism on behalf of themselves.
I'm catholic...in my religion we believe it's best to do it at a very young age (a few weeks to a couple months old). Then we have confirmations when the kids are older...this is where kids accept the same things their parents accepted when they were baptized (to put it in simple terms).

When they are old enough to know the difference between right and wrong, and when they have the ability to "choose" the have the action performed on them.
Around the age of eight should be about right.

It depends upon your faith, and traditions in your church. Mine was baptized and confirmed just before he was a month old, because it was getting near the Christmas season. Normally, we would have it done in our church at six weeks or so.

When they're old enough to understand what's going on, say at least 12. Otherwise, they will probably want to be re-baptized when they are adults.

Yes - when the child is old enough to know what baptism is, and old enough to choose his or her own faith.
