Matthew 5:28
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Matthew 5:32
But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
These are the two Biblical descriptions of adultery, in Genesis the Lord says: Genesis 3:24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
Notice it states one flesh.

Adultery is basicaly cheating on your husband or wife.
Jesus said if you look upon a woman in lust, you have committed adultery in your heart.
So even the mental adultery is still adultery.
which means aren't we all guilty?

Adultery is when you have sex with someone who is married or you are married, and the person you sleep with is not your partner. You seem troubled, and may want to ask a more detailed question.

i believe it is about loyalty to god ,
i am in the miority of one but from memory it comes before thou shalt not kill because our god is a jealouse god
that being said adulterating anything is a sin ,be it god ,gods word ,gods message ,or marrage or food or product ,we are hurting others when we adulterate our spouses ,god's, custemors trust.
it is giving less than is thier due ,it is pretending a lie or a deceit or fraud ,god deserves to be the one god we put before all else ,kids will understand the concept by the parrable of giving ceaser ,and full measure ,that they can relate to better than [at young age] betraying the trust of a future spouse
