Does he belong to a club? You might ask the guys at the club - or how about a couple of tee dates & lunch for he and friends.

Get him a golf shirt and a gift certificate to his favorite golf store. That way you have bought something for him personally and he can get what he wants at the golf store. Or if he has a friend that he normally golfs with then you can call him and ask if there is anything he knows of that your father-in-law may want. Someone who shares the same interest in the sport can have a good idea of what to get for him. You're a nice son-in-law. Good Luck!

Barnes and Nobles has a beautiful book of Golf locations located throughout the States and a brief description of each golf course.
There are lots of Golf stores out there - one I went into had novelty items for the business man. A Greens gift certificate (for at least 2 of course) to a golf course he's desired to go. In California people like Pebble Beach - you have to sign up for the greens a couple of months in advance so this time of year would be a good time to get him one from an elaborate golf course in your area. A hand held computerized golf game is fun. They also have one that you use an actual club and a disk is used on your t.v. or something like that. Are you kissing up to him for Valentines? lol . Have fun - father-in-laws are fun aren't they?

Whats the occasion for this gift ? Hopefully not Valentine`s Day !
Since Xmas is passed, I assume its for his birthday, how about a gift pass to the greens of his favorite gold course.

You could get him a few golf shirts. I know my boss likes that, or personalised golf balls.
