And what does this nonsense have to do with travel to Israel?
First of all, Muslims need to stop over-reacting to something that they clearly know nothing about. Consider it from this perspective, whether or not you believe that the Mosque of Omar sits on top of the foundation of the Holy Temple as the Jewish people believe, why would they take the chance of destroying their most sacred structure, the Western Wall, for the sake of excavations? Second, since you clearly have never seen the mound which the Israelis are reparing, then clearly, you are not in much of a position to be throwing around abunch of wild and baselss acusations. I've been to the Wall many times and have seen the mound, there's no way that any repair work on the mound would in any way disturb the structure of the Mosque.
And finally, if you really want to get literal about things, then it could be reasonably argued that the Mosque is built on occupied land, on top of the Holy Temple. So not much point in bringing up this 1440yr old nonsense.

If Jerusalem was to disappear it would disrupt the Christains, Mohamedians, and Jews. When two women fought over a baby, Solomon decided to cut the baby in half and give a piece to each woman. Who not turn Jerusalem into a giant hole that can't be rebuilt? It would sure stop a lot of squabbles.

Jerusalem replaced into fought for against the Jordanian military. It replaced into annexed after Israel's victory. To the victor is going the spoils in any conflict. No, the UN does no longer reconize it because of the fact the capital of Israel, yet many countries do. bypass parent. I say supply the East to the Arabs and declare a Palestinian state already. Israel has already agreed to this interior the Oslo Accords.

No, the Israeli government won't let them. It's very interesting to live here and see how much effort the government must put into restraining the far right from doing just this sort of thing. Most Israelis are very tolerant people, but there are some, a small percentage, who happen to be pretty nuts.
And your silly question, just intended to make people mad, has done just the opposite, it would seem to me, as I read all the answers...

Jerusalem is not "occupied." What a silly thing to claim. It is open to worshippers of all faiths and is the holiest city to the Jewish people. It is the third holiest city to the Muslims, whose religion did not even exist 1440 years ago!
The claims here are nothing more than cynical lies, promoted by enemies of Israel.
The work is proceeding near a temporary walkway that replaces a centuries-old stairway which collapsed during storms in 2004. The Israeli authorities have explained that the renovations are needed to safeguard the ancient site and have told all the critics that there will be no structural damage to the ancient site or to the Temple Mount beside it.
Yet those facts will not deter the forces in the Arab world that are trying to diffuse and end the intra-Arab warfare. History has taught that in deteriorating situations like the one in the Palestinian Authority, one can always deflect the criticism and blame the Jew.
Israeli-Arab Sheikh Raad Salah, who heads the radical Islamic Movement, has issued a call for an "Intifada" of Israel's Arabs. The leaders of Jordan, Syria and Iran, as well as Islamic chiefs in Egypt, has all condemned the work. "The world of Islam should show a serious reaction to the Zionist regime's insult to Al-Aksa Mosque," Iranian Islamic ruler Ayatollah Ali Khameini said on Wednesday and has called on Muslim nations to attack Israel in response .
An Israeli Foreign Ministry statement dismissed the criticism as an exploitation of the situation. "The Temple Mount is the holiest site of the Jewish people," Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said in a statement Wednesday. "The State of Israel will never do anything to harm the freedom of worship of members of all religions – in Jerusalem or anywhere in Israel. There are irresponsible elements, who know full well that no harm is being caused here to any holy site, who are exploiting Israeli democracy to fan religious feelings for political gain ."
The world must awaken to the danger that the radical Islamist movements pose, both to Israel and to the entire Western World.

Islam isn't even 1440 years old.
You don't know how to spell mosque.
Jerusalem is not occupied.
The mosque is built on the remains of a Christian church that the Muslims destroyed.
The church was built on the site of the Jewish Temples.
You have said only a few words, but they were all wrong.

You are not even close to the truth.
1440 years ago Islam had not even been invented.
The Muslims erected their mosque on land stolen from the Jews.
