i've never really had many problems with msn b4 til a few days ago, i have dial up and i get disconnected all the time, suddenly now whenever i get disconnected and my msn signs out. i sign back in again and it freezes, just the msn program and nothing else and i can't get back into it unless i restart my computer.

The only thing i could remember doing around that time was installing utorrent, but i uninstalled that now and my msn still has the problem, i've tried a few things i read on the net and reinstalling. i actually got WLM but that's not the problem cos it worked fine since i got it til now. i've also tried reinstalling msn 7.5 and it still freezes when i get disconnected.

Yep. Sounds like it's freezing alright.

You need to call MSN Tech support. toll free # 1-800-386-5550 and have them help you. As you may know in November they changed all their customers over to MSN 9 to try and get every one on the same page so to speak. Since doing that most of their customers have had all kinds of problems. And their phone lines have been jammed up for hours at a time.

Both my brother and I had MSN and we both went through all kinds of problems with it our selves. It took my brother a month to back on line and then he was still having problems. Mine wasn't quite as bad as his, however I spent 5 hours on the [phone just to be able to get re connected to their system. It still wasn't perfect.

I think they did some thing this time that they just don't seem to be able to fix. My brother and I finally just gave up and changed over to AT & T's yahoo high speed. It is so much better and so much faster than MSN and it works too. It's only about $3.03 or so more a month than MSN, plus you can use your phone/your plan is on your phone bill and its so fast.

But if you want to stay with MSN you need to call them and explain what is going on so that they can walk you through the steps to fix it. Be prepaired to wait if you call right now. I called about an hour or so ago and their phone lines were jammed, the computer said that the wait would be longer than normal. I called to cancell my old plan with them as I still hadn't cancelled, that is how I know that their phone lines are busy.

I hope you have better luck than we did. We were both with them for over 6 years.

try System Recovery to before you installed utorrent.
