The best way to stop feeling sad is to stop trying to 'stop feeling sad'. You feel this way for a reason. Embrace it. This person obviously meant something to you or you wouldn't feel the loss. Take the time to grieve and get to know these feelings to had for this person and this relationship. One thing that really helps to get the pain out is to write down how you feel. Get a composition notebook and a pen and sit down every day and write the pain out. You will feel much better, trust me. And best of all you will learn a lot about yourself and why you feel what you feel. Ultimately, relationships exist to teach us about ourselves and about life. The most important thing you can do for yourself in the relationship department is to figure out who you are and where life is calling you. The sooner you know your vision in life, the vision you have for your life, the better you will be at identifying people on a similar path. Good luck and feel better. We've all been there before.

Same thing happened to me, and it took me a long time to get over it. The best thing you can do is focus on loving who you are and what you do. It's much better than the alternative of sitting in dark rooms and listening to depressing music. It may be hard at first, but it's really the best thing to do. I'm sorry that it didn't work out between you two, I know it really blows. I wish you only the best in the future.

i'm so sorry to hear about your situation, i'm with someone i love right now and i can only imagine how id feel if he left me. I know this is easier said then done but you need to go on. If it was meant to be you two will end up that way, if not then this is the outcome. You need to go out and move on, there are plenty of fish in the sea, remember that and hopefully you will find someone who will love u back as much as u love them.

It is normal to feel this way, but ofcourse it sucks.
You should go out with friends.
Go to the movies, mall, or dine out.
Keep yourself busy. Entertain yourself.
Do things that you enjoy.
Think about your family, they probably hate seein you this way.
Let the pain heal & the right time will come for you to meet that special person.
Move on to the next chapter of your life & who knows something better awaits your story. :)
Good Luck!

okay here's what i did:
- i ignored the guy.. absolutely NO contact whatsoever.. not only will he realize that you can live without him, but it's also going to help you forget him
- closure... tell yourself "i'm SO over him" or "i don't need him".. stuff like that.. all the time. tell it to yourself whenever you remember him, think of him, think of the memories with him, etc. it'll help you overcome the urge to break down into tears or be sad.
- seriously, be mad at him. be angry at the guy. perhaps even loathe him. it helps A WHOLE LOT.. trust me. it helps with moving on.. of course, i'm not telling you to badmouth him or to hurt him physically or anything like that. just keep it to yourself. or maybe vent onto a trusted friend.. about the things you don't like about him.. this is another tip, btw.. think of all his imperfections and stuff like that. channel your anger in a positive way to get over him.
- make new friends.. be it boy or girl, doesn't matter! as long as you're happy and in the company of people who make you happy. think of yourself. think if what you're making yourself go through is healthy at all for your body and mind. always smile, make new friends, have fun, and be happy.
- focus on yourself for now.. exercise, get a new look, go shopping, treat yourself to a spa.. try thinking of better things ahead, and definite improvement in yourself as a person.
- lastly, CHOCOLATE!!! ^__^ Chocolate intake has been linked with release of serotonin in the brain, which is thought to produce feelings of pleasure. read the other effects here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chocolate#Physiological_effects
don't worry about pimples or sore throats.. those are myths. eating chocolates will help you be more happy. it'll help lighted your mood, and it'll give you a chance to have fun. besides! who can beat chocolate, right?! *wink*
good luck!

I don't know I ask myself the same question. I feel the same way you do. I think time will heal our wounds. And for me time has gone on and still nothing... It take a long time, it's so hard loving someone and knowing they aren't ment to be for you... I try to make myself believe that there is someone out there for me that is a whole lot better than him. (even though i doubt myself)

Exercise. Especially running. You will be surprised at how much the endorphins lift your mood and give you pleasure in facing life.
