or will they be sent back to their country when they try to get citizenship? Also, how does an illegal woman have a baby in their country and bring him as an infant get a social security number for the baby?

If you are an illegal and marry a US citizen you are able to fix your status through him but only a green card not a citizenship, also you can only apply if you entered the US legally ( with a visa or work permit) I the person came in through the border (illegal) they can apply but will have to leave the US to their country, In there country a judge will penalize him for entering the US illegally ( usually 2-10 years).

No. Citizenship through marriage is no longer automatic. The only piece of good news here is that the fact that you have a child together makes it somewhat less likely that the government will think that the marriage is a sham meant to allow him to stay, and deport him merely for that reason. Although it is not entirely impossible for a person who is married to a U.S. citizen to become a citizen, it is extremely difficult, not automatic, and often harder than it would have been if the person was not married. Additionally, in nearly all cases, it is impossible to make an illegal alien into a citizen. If you want to try, the first step is for him to leave the U.S., get permission to re-enter the U.S. legally from a location outside of the U.S., and return to the U.S. legally as a non-citizen.

Yes, marrying an American citizen is the great equalizer. They can't deport you once you marry a citizen, of course, if it's a sham marriage they will know that it's a fake an deport you. Why do you want to benefit from the USA illegally? Why can't you just come here legally? You could try the diversity DV lottery program at the end of the year.
IF you are living in the US illegally, once you live, they will have a record of your departure from your international airline ticket info. and the BCIS will keep track of your info. so next time you try to enter USA, you'll be barred from entering for 10 years.

No, the US citizen spouse would have to apply for an adjustment of status for the illegal spouse. If granted the alien spouse would become a conditional permanent resident alien. After two years the couple would be interviewed to insure that they are still married and that the marriage was not a sham i.e. they are living together, an attempt to commit marriage fraud. The alien spouse would then be granted lawful permanent resident status and 5 years later (barring any deportable offenses, like criminal convictions) could apply for US citizenship.

It´s not just as easy as that and yes, illegals can be deported even though they married a US citizen. It was easier to legalize them before September 11th but since then it has been made a lot more difficult. The illegal spouse has to return to his/her home country in order to wait for the paperwork to be processed before returning to the US as a legal citizen.

Yes an illegal who marries a US Citizen is fast tracked to US Citizenship. As far as the SS # for a baby is concerned, all sh has to do is prove he was born in the USA and he is automaticly a US Citizen and entitled to a SS#.
