Regardless of the size of your wedding, you should start planning at least some of it now. If you're going to have a medium-size to larger wedding, you really need to start asap.
This web site is great, by the way...

Wow girl im sorry to say but if your having a big wedding then you have a hell of a lot to do between now and june! My wedding is in August and i have been organising since last Septmeber and im still finding it difficult! It also depends on what sort of wedding your having too. If your having a small intimate wedding then i wouldnt stress too much. Its easy to start... just sit down with your man and each of you tell the other what youd like. beach or church? Gardens or chapel? There are so many choices. Once you have a concrete plan on what you like it really just flows on from here. Take a tip form me, ebay is fantastic for a lot of things! Good luck!

Well it really depends on where you're getting married. In the country I live people start planning a couple of years before. I'm getting married in July 08 and I've already bought my wedding dressed and booked church and reception venue etc. But I guess you should start now. A good place to start is choosing the place the ceremony will be held - church, garden etc. Then you should book catering and venue for the reception. Buy your wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. Choose who is going to be in your bridal party. Make up a guest list. Choose a colour scheme for the wedding

The Knot is a good place. Usually a year is good for pre-planning. Shop around for a bridal gown, veil, shoes. Look into caterers, music, bridesmaid dresses, etc. A wedding planner is good to have. She will guide you to a decorator to help with your colors and details, as flowers, location, photographer, etc. Best of luck.

I found this planning checklist on line http://www.weddinglenox.com/advises/Wedding_planning_scheduling.php.
You can also try their matching system http://www.weddinglenox.com/membersignup1.php that will match you up with local vendors. I tried it and have good result as I only recieved email from vendors according to my request.
One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that's too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.
The sites I provide above have a easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page plus, you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.

I started planning in January, and I'm getting married in Dec. of this year. I would suggest booking the church, reception hall. photographer, and DJ, or other music first, then go from there. good luck............ and congratulations

Determine your budget. Who will you invite? Who will be in your wedding party. You'll need a dress. Ask your mom and his mom. They can help you plan.
