I think he does. he is probably trying to deny it even to himself, but he can't help it but like you.. wanting to know about your bf is a sign that he wants to know when things are not going so well so he can be the "friend" and staring at you when you are not looking means he finds you attractive..:)

He does, he just doesn't want to make you feel uncomfortable. He knows your taken so he prob doesn't want to lose you as a friend. Because someday he hopes to be more than a friend.
